(DC Pundit) – Welcome to another wild day in the world of politics. It seems like Pennsylvania’s Democratic Senator Bob Casey is playing a game of political Twister, trying to stretch himself in all directions to keep his seat warm.
In his latest ad, Casey’s pulling a move that’s raising eyebrows. He’s featuring a couple – one Republican, one Democrat – who are both backing him. But here’s the kicker: they’re supporting him for reasons that might make President Biden choke on his ice cream cone.
First up, they’re praising Casey for “bucking Biden to protect fracking.” Now, if that doesn’t sound like a Democrat in an energy-producing state desperately trying to save his bacon, I don’t know what does. It’s almost as if Casey caught wind of his opponent, Dave McCormick, airing that ad showing Kamala Harris promising to end fracking back in her 2020 campaign. Talk about awkward timing, right?
But wait, there’s more! The couple also gives Casey a pat on the back for “siding with Trump to end NAFTA and put tariffs on China to stop them from cheating.” I can just imagine the collective groan echoing through the White House at that one.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Casey’s just trying to convince Pennsylvania voters he’s got their backs. But let’s not forget, this is the same guy who said he’d work with a potential Harris administration to nuke the filibuster faster than you can say “Roe v. Wade.”
“I think it makes sense to change the rule,” Casey told CNN, apparently ready to take a wrecking ball to the filibuster for a whole shopping list of issues. He added, “Well, I’ll just say what I believe. I believe for a long time that the 60-vote rule has been an impediment to progress on a whole host of fronts, including voting rights, which we tried to pass in 2022.”

I don't think I've ever seen an ad from a Democrat incumbent Senator denouncing the sitting Democrat president and bear-hugging policies of his Republican predecessor. Sort of a telling move by Bob Casey Jr., no?

So, there you have it, folks. Bob Casey: fracking defender, China tariff supporter, and filibuster demolition enthusiast. It’s like he’s trying to be all things to all people. But as the old saying goes, you can’t please everyone – and in trying to do so, Casey might just end up pleasing no one at all.
