(DC Pundit) – A recently resurfaced CIA document from 1984 claims that life on Mars wasn’t just found – it was psychically discovered millions of years in the past. Move over, Elon Musk; your Mars colonization plans might be a tad late to the party.
The report, dramatically titled “Mars Exploration May 22, 1984,” reads like a rejected script for a sci-fi B-movie. It details how the agency used astral projection to send a ‘subject’ on a mental field trip to Mars circa one million years BC. One can only imagine the travel insurance premiums for such a journey.
This interplanetary psychic escapade was part of Project Stargate, a secret US Army unit established in 1977. The project focused on phenomena including remote viewing, telepathy, and psychokinesis. Participants were exposed to sounds like binaural beats and hemi-sync audio, presumably to induce altered states of consciousness. One can’t help but wonder if they considered just using Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” instead.
The experiment’s ‘subject’ reported seeing an “oblique view of a pyramid” and a “very large road” with a monument reminiscent of ancient Egyptian structures.
“While NASA is searching for life on Mars, a CIA document claims it was found 40 years ago.

The vision then shifted to a population of “very large people” searching for “a new place to live because their environment was corrupted.” It seems even a million years ago, Martians were dealing with environmental issues. Perhaps they should have invested in some extraterrestrial solar panels.
Project Stargate was the US government’s attempt to create mind-reading spies who could infiltrate the minds of its enemies. Because clearly, traditional espionage methods were just too passé for the Cold War era. The project ran for over a decade at Fort Meade in Maryland, recruiting individuals who claimed to have extrasensory perception (ESP). One can only imagine the job listings: “Wanted: Psychic spies. Must be able to read minds and locate hostages. Time travel experience a plus.”
The document describing this Martian adventure begins with the cryptic line: “Method of site acquisition: Sealed envelope coupled with geographic coordinates.”
The subject described seeing “very tall, thin” people wearing strange clothing. Apparently, Martian fashion was ahead of its time – or perhaps just really, really old.
As the psychic journey continued, the subject witnessed a violent storm on Mars, with people using giant pyramids for shelter.
In a moment of interspecies communication, the subject claimed to have spoken with one of these ancient Martians, who mentioned that a group had left in “what looks like the inside of a larger boat.” One can only hope they remembered to pack snacks for such a long journey.
The experiment concluded with the administrator guiding the subject back to reality with the words, “Move now back to the room, back to the sound of my voice, back farther now to the sound of my voice on the 22nd of May, 1984.”
While this CIA document provides a fascinating glimpse into the unconventional methods employed during the Cold War, I believe we should approach it with a healthy dose of skepticism. After all, if psychic time travel to ancient Mars were truly possible, wouldn’t we have a few more souvenir t-shirts by now?
