(DC Pundit) – Remember when Joe Biden and the Democrats stood before the American people with straight faces and insisted they simply couldn’t secure the southern border without brand new legislation? That closing the border was some impossibly complex task requiring congressional action, new laws, and mountains of bureaucratic maneuvering?
It was a lie. A flat-out, knowing, deliberate lie.
President Trump proved it. During his 2025 State of the Union address, Trump made the point plainly — all securing the border really required was a new president. He was right, and the numbers back him up completely.
The Department of Homeland Security announced that the United States has now reached ten consecutive months of zero illegal aliens released at the border. Ten months. Zero releases. Done.
DHS made it official in a press release, “Ten straight months of ZERO illegal aliens released at the border. President Trump promised to secure the Border, and that is a promise we delivered. We have the most secure border in American history. Our borders are CLOSED to lawbreakers.”
No new legislation needed. No emergency congressional sessions. No elaborate excuses. Just a president who actually wanted the border secured.
While the Trump administration is busy racking up real, measurable wins on border security, Democrats are busy doing what they do best: saying absolutely unhinged things. Case in point — some on the left have recently floated the idea that Thomas Paine, one of the most important figures of the American Revolution and author of the legendary pamphlet “Common Sense,” was essentially an undocumented immigrant. The suggestion, pushed by Rep. Jamie Raskin, was apparently meant to draw a parallel between Paine and individuals sneaking across the southern border today.
Raskin: "Thomas Paine was an undocumented immigrant."
Jordan: "How was he an illegal immigrant? He was born in the UK and came to America, then a British colony."

The desperation is showing, and it isn’t a good look. While Trump secures the border, Democrats are rewriting history. Let’s hope voters notice.
