(DC Pundit) – The nation continues to reel after the shocking assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, and now we have a suspect in custody. According to President Donald Trump and law enforcement officials, the man responsible is 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah, turned in by none other than his own father.
Kirk, just 31 years old, was fatally shot in the neck on Wednesday while hosting an event at Utah Valley University. Thousands of students were in attendance when a single rifle round ended the life of one of America’s strongest conservative voices and a close ally of President Trump. The assassination sparked immediate outrage nationwide, along with an aggressive manhunt to track down the killer.
President Trump confirmed the capture during an interview on Fox & Friends, stating, “I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him.” The President didn’t hesitate about what should happen next either: “I hope he’s going to be found guilty and I hope he gets the death penalty. What he did — Charlie Kirk was the finest person and he didn’t deserve this.”

According to reports, Robinson was turned in by his father, a pastor, who reached out to authorities through a minister tied to law enforcement.

Details of the attack reveal chilling precision. Surveillance footage shows a figure later identified as Robinson perched on a rooftop 200 yards from the outdoor stage. Using a Mauser .30-06 bolt-action rifle, he fired one shot, striking Kirk. Investigators say Robinson then stashed the weapon in a wooded area before fleeing into a nearby neighborhood.
Law enforcement described Robinson as a young man who easily blended into the college environment—slim build, dark hair, black long-sleeved T-shirt, baseball cap, sunglasses, and Converse sneakers. His accuracy with the rifle suggests he wasn’t new to handling firearms, though his specific training background remains unclear.
Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to equipping young conservatives with the courage to stand against the leftist machine. His legacy will continue, but the loss is immeasurable. May he rest in peace, and may prayers pour out for his family, friends, and the countless students he inspired.
