(DC Pundit) – In a world where billionaires and politicians often clash, Microsoft mogul Bill Gates has just revealed the details of his recent tête-à-tête with former President Donald Trump.
Gates, speaking to The Wall Street Journal, gave his account on a marathon three-hour dinner with Trump, where they apparently discussed everything from global health to Gates’ passion project: vaccines. One can only imagine the small talk at that table.
The tech titan seemed genuinely impressed by the encounter, stating, “I had a chance to go have a long and actually quite intriguing dinner with him.”
Gates continued, “We touched on a lot of things. It was over three hours. To my surprise, it was, you know, just he and I, his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, and the person who helps manage things for me, Larry Cohen.” A cozy foursome, perfect for discussing world-changing innovations over dessert.
The billionaire philanthropist gushed about his foundation’s work on HIV, excitedly sharing, “I spoke a lot about HIV and that the foundation’s literally working on a cure for that. We’re at an early stage, and so, you know, he, in the COVID days, accelerated the vaccine innovation.”
Gates, ever the optimist, saw an opportunity to push for more support. “So I, you know, was asking him if maybe the same kind of thing could be done here, and we both got, I think, pretty excited about that.”

The conversation then took a global turn, with Gates explaining the challenges of eradicating polio. “We talked about polio, where, you know, we’re very close to getting that done, but if you stop, it’ll spread back. And so I explained why it’s been tough in Pakistan, Afghanistan. We’ve had cases show up in Gaza. We have cases in Africa.”
Gates seemed particularly impressed with Trump’s engagement, noting, “He was fascinated to hear what he could do to maximize the chance that during the next four years, that incredible milestone will be achieved.”
The Microsoft founder concluded, “I felt like he was, you know, energized and, you know, looking forward to helping to drive innovation. You know, I was frankly impressed with how well he showed a lot of interest in the issues I brought up.” It’s unclear whether Trump’s interest was genuine or if he was just playing to the crowd.
This unusual meeting of the two came to light just weeks after Trump’s cryptic post on Truth Social, in which he penned, “Where are you? When are you coming to the ‘Center of the Universe,’ Mar-a-Lago? Bill Gates asked to come, tonight. We miss you and x! New Year’s Eve is going to be AMAZING!!! DJT.”
Interestingly, it wasn’t mentioned if Gates voiced any concerns about Trump’s potential HHS nominee, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a known critic of Gates and his vaccine initiatives. Perhaps that topic was deemed too spicy for dinner conversation.
While Gates didn’t make any direct statements about the upcoming election, it’s worth noting that he quietly slipped a cool $50 million to Kamala Harris’ campaign. Talk about hedging your bets.
