(DC Pundit) – Louisville, Kentucky just delivered the latest example of woke “justice” run amok.
On February 2, a jury recommended that 24-year-old Christopher Thompson receive 65 years in prison after convicting him of robbery, kidnapping, sodomy, and sexual abuse. Jurors also tacked on additional convictions after Thompson repeatedly disrupted proceedings with his unhinged behavior.
Back in December 2025, the jury found Thompson guilty of a violent crime spree involving sexual assaults against innocent women while robbing them.
Thompson was arrested in January 2024 after DNA conclusively tied him to a horrific July 2023 attack. Louisville Metro Police laid out the chilling details to WHAS 11:
“LMPD said Thompson wore a ski mask and kidnapped a woman at gunpoint before forcing her to perform sexual acts in the parking lot of an elementary school. He then drove the victim to an ATM and forced her to withdraw $220 before returning to the school to assault her again and fleeing on foot.”

That’s who we’re talking about: A masked predator. A gun. An elementary school parking lot. Multiple assaults. Robbery.
Yet Louisville Judge Tracy Davis decided the jury’s 65-year recommendation was simply too much for this monster to handle.
Instead, she slashed his sentence to 30 years — less than half — while referencing Thompson’s race and suggesting people like him have been treated unjustly in America.
In other words, identity politics trumped justice.

Thompson reportedly smiled during the trial and repeatedly stated he did not care about his sentence or the victim’s family. No remorse. No accountability. Just arrogance, courtesy of a system that keeps making excuses for violent criminals.
This is exactly what conservatives have been warning about.
Regular Americans sit on juries, review evidence, and make tough decisions — only to have activist judges come in afterward and rewrite reality based on progressive talking points. Victims are forgotten. Communities are endangered. Criminals get discounts.
Meanwhile, law-abiding citizens are told to accept it.
If America wants safer streets, it starts with respecting juries, holding violent offenders fully accountable, and putting an end to woke courtroom experiments.
