(DC Pundit) – Former MSNBC host Joy Reid has always had a flair for saying bizarre things, but her latest rant takes it to an entirely new level. During a recent podcast appearance, Reid questioned whether the July 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, even happened.
Reid scoffed, “He’s got these magical doctors who claimed that he was shot in the ear, but his ear, I guess, grew back. He had a Duplo bandage on one minute, no bandage the next. We can’t get a medical record from this alleged assassination. He was supposed to be shot. We have nothing. We’ve got nothing. You can’t even ask.”

This is the sort of commentary that makes conspiracy theorists on YouTube look restrained. Reid, who was shown the door by MSNBC last year for being too unhinged even for their standards, seems determined to prove the network was right to cut her loose. Without a corporate filter to rein her in, her rhetoric has only become more erratic.
Let’s be clear: the assassination attempt on President Trump was no illusion. The attack left Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter and father, dead after he bravely shielded his family from gunfire. Others were injured. Law enforcement, eyewitnesses, and endless video footage confirm exactly what took place. Reid’s bizarre denial doesn’t just insult the President, it dishonors the sacrifice of a man who gave his life protecting his loved ones.
It’s one thing for a washed-up media personality to chase attention with outlandish claims. It’s another thing entirely to spit on the memory of victims in the process. Imagine being the Comperatore family and hearing someone dismiss the day’s horror as if it were staged theater.
Reid’s meltdown also highlights a broader problem on the Left: when reality doesn’t fit their narrative, they simply invent an alternate one. In this case, it’s the unbelievable claim that an assassination attempt witnessed by thousands and broadcast live across America never even happened.
Conservatives already knew Joy Reid was detached from reality. Now she’s confirmed it beyond all doubt. The sad part is that while she babbles into a microphone, families like the Comperatores are still living with the real cost of political violence, a cost Reid finds convenient to deny.
