(DC Pundit) – It’s not every day you see a felony charge tied to a Subway sandwich, but welcome to Washington, D.C. in 2025. The man behind the airborne footlong has been identified as none other than a Department of Justice trial attorney — well, former DOJ trial attorney — who learned the hard way that assaulting a federal officer is not a career-enhancing move.
Earlier this week, a man wearing a salmon-colored t-shirt was caught on video hurling a sandwich at a federal agent in D.C., just days after President Trump deployed the National Guard to restore order in the nation’s capital. The thrower, 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn, wasn’t just any protester with a bad attitude. He was on the federal payroll, working inside the very agency tasked with upholding the law.
Attorney General Pam Bondi stated, “If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you. I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony. This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ. You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement.”

In other words, if you’re going to lob deli meat at the people sworn to protect the public, you can expect your job — and maybe your freedom — to be gone faster than a lunch rush at Subway.
If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you.

Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, also confirmed the swift termination, stating, “The man in the salmon colored shirt with the effete gesture there of throwing a Subway sandwich is, was a DOJ contractor.”

The irony is almost too perfect. A DOJ insider decides to physically attack a federal officer — while drawing a paycheck from the taxpayers — and in doing so, hands the Trump administration a prime example of why it’s been cleaning house at the Department of Justice. For months, Bondi and her team have been rooting out bureaucrats who think their political leanings give them a free pass to undermine law enforcement. Dunn’s stunt may be one of the more ridiculous examples, but it’s also one of the most revealing.
The message coming out of Trump’s DOJ is crystal clear: federal employees are expected to uphold the law, not chuck sandwiches at it. And if you can’t handle that, you’ll be out of a job before you can say “Would you like chips with that?”
