(DC Pundit) – After nearly five months of sticking customers with a 50-cent per egg surcharge, Waffle House has finally pulled the plug on the price hike. The reason for the original surcharge? A nationwide egg shortage brought to you by, you guessed it, the incompetent leadership of the now-departed Biden administration. Apparently, when you let a career politician with no business sense run the show, breakfast staples become luxury items.
Back in February, as egg prices skyrocketed due to a poorly managed avian flu crisis, Waffle House, like many other businesses, had to make tough decisions. Instead of skimping on portions or shrinking plates, the iconic Southern diner opted for transparency, tacking on an additional charge to offset soaring costs.
But once President Donald Trump was sworn back into office, things began turning around fast. Unlike his predecessor, Trump didn’t wait for a think tank report or an “expert panel” to tell him what needed fixing. He got to work immediately, restoring order to a market that had been left in chaos.
As usual, the mainstream media tried to pin the blame for high egg prices on Trump, because apparently, inflation didn’t exist under Biden. But facts are stubborn things, and it took just a few months of real leadership from Trump to start undoing the damage done over four long years of progressive mismanagement.
On Tuesday, Waffle House made the official announcement via X, declaring, “Egg-cellent news…as of June 2, the egg surcharge is officially off the menu. Thanks for understanding!”

Waffle House didn’t just wake up one morning and decide to be generous, they responded to a stabilized market made possible by responsible governance, not the “Green New Deal” dreamers who were more concerned with gender studies in Pakistan than food prices in Peoria.
For anyone paying attention, this is what leadership looks like. Trump came back into the White House and prioritized the economy from day one. Meanwhile, the Democrats and their media lapdogs were busy running cover for Biden’s failures.
Amazing! Thank you, President Trump!🥚 https://t.co/asC2lzlo4s

When Biden’s bureaucrats bungled the avian flu response, it wasn’t just egg farmers who paid the price. Everyday Americans felt it in their wallets, at grocery stores, diners, and yes, even at their favorite Waffle House booths.
Egg prices reached absurd levels thanks to production bottlenecks, supply chain failures, and general government apathy. But now, with competent adults back in the room, the price pressures have eased, and the need for extra charges on scrambled, over-easy, and sunny-side-up is no longer necessary.
Leadership matters. Policies matter. And breakfast, believe it or not, matters too, especially when you’re feeding working-class Americans who don’t have time for political theater but sure as heck notice when their tab goes up because someone in D.C. couldn’t manage a poultry problem.
So yes, Waffle House has finally dropped the egg surcharge. And if you’re wondering who to thank, look no further than 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, where President Donald Trump is once again proving that common sense, pro-America policies can make even the smallest things in life a little better.
