(DC Pundit) – The FBI is now digging deeper into the brutal assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, and new evidence suggests the gunman may not have acted alone. Investigators are reviewing security footage captured via a doorbell camera that appears to show the suspected killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, speaking on a cellphone near Utah Valley University shortly after the attack. The chilling clip reportedly shows Robinson discussing the murder on his phone as he fled the scene.
Charlie Kirk was gunned down on Wednesday while hosting an “Ask Me Anything” event at Utah Valley University, a shocking act of political violence that rattled conservatives nationwide. Robinson, who reportedly engraved Antifa slogans onto his ammunition casings, managed to evade authorities for more than 33 hours before being turned in by his own father.
Governor Spencer Cox initially seemed confident in telling the public that Robinson acted alone. At a Friday press conference, Cox noted that Robinson had exchanged messages with his roommate that raised questions: “a need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in a bush, [and] messages related to visually watching the area where a rifle was left, and a message referring to having left the rifle wrapped in a towel… The messages also referred to engraving bullets and a mention of a scope and the rifle being unique. Messages from the contact, Tyler, also mentioned that he had changed outfits.”
But by the end of the day, Cox downplayed the possibility of an accomplice, telling reporters, “We do not at this time have any information that would lead to any additional arrests,” insisting Robinson acted on his own.
That explanation isn’t aging well.
According to the Daily Mail, federal agents are now taking a closer look at the suspicious footage that contradicts the “lone wolf” narrative. The video shows Robinson speaking into a cellphone about the killing as he walked past a house near the scene. The Sun reported that investigators believe the clip could be critical in determining whether Robinson coordinated with someone else during or after the shooting.
Here’s the bottom line: while Utah’s governor rushed to calm the public by declaring Robinson acted alone, the evidence paints a murkier picture. The American people deserve the truth, especially when it comes to the assassination of a leading conservative voice on a college campus.
