(DC Pundit) – One of America’s most iconic entertainers, pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71. According to TMZ Sports, emergency responders were called to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida early Thursday morning due to a reported “cardiac arrest.” Witnesses said multiple police cars and EMT vehicles arrived at the scene, and Hogan was seen being transported out of his home on a stretcher.
The larger-than-life performer, born Terry Bollea, was more than just a wrestling superstar; he was a household name, a pop culture force, and a patriot who made no secret of his love for America and support for President Donald Trump.
Hogan became a global icon during the 1980s and 1990s, leading the WWF (now WWE) through its most explosive era. But beyond the ring, he was one of the few public figures in entertainment who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind politically, even if that meant going against the grain in liberal Hollywood.
In fact, Hogan made headlines during President Trump’s inauguration. While attending a celebration event hosted by Fox News host Jesse Watters, Hogan stole the show in the most Hulkster way imaginable.
“Everywhere I go, all around, everybody is so happy that we got America back, everybody is elated that Donald Trump is our president,” he said during a lively exchange with Watters.

Never one to miss an opportunity for dramatic flair, Hogan channeled his wrestling persona as he declared, “Jesse, this suit is holding me down just like that four-year administration. The lies, the cheating, all the stuff that’s going on, brother,” before tearing his sleeves off in front of a roaring crowd.
Then came the kicker, “We’ve got Trumpamania, brother! We’ve got Trumpamania running this country, brother!”
That moment captured exactly who Hogan was—unapologetically bold, fiercely patriotic, and full of energy even well into his 60s. While the left spent years trying to cancel voices like his, Hogan leaned harder into speaking the truth and celebrating the return of American strength under Trump’s leadership.
Though he’s now gone, Hulk Hogan leaves behind a legacy few can match. Millions grew up watching him body slam opponents in the ring, but his fans also respected him for standing up for what he believed in when it wasn’t popular to do so.
Rest in peace, Hulk.
