(DC Pundit) – Vice President JD Vance is learning firsthand what happens when the woke mob collides with Britain’s pub culture. According to reports, a Michelin-rated pub in Oxfordshire refused to honor his reservation after staff threatened to walk off the job if he was allowed through the door. Yes, apparently serving fish and chips to an American vice president is now considered an act of political betrayal in the land that gave us Winston Churchill.
The restaurant in question, The Bull – Charlbury, wasn’t exactly eager to discuss the situation. An employee declined comment when contacted by The Daily Beast, and Public House Group, the company behind the establishment, hasn’t responded to press inquiries.

It’s not just the pub staff taking issue with Vance. Some locals in the Oxfordshire hamlet are making their displeasure known by planting protest signs in their yards. One read, “Fascists not welcome here,” while another simply told the vice president to “go home.”

Ironically, the same pub rolled out the red carpet for former Vice President Kamala Harris, who apparently sipped her drinks in peace with no staff mutiny, and no protest signs. But when Vance shows up? Suddenly, moral outrage appear everywhere.
Residents complained to the BBC that his visit disrupted their quiet village life. “I don’t think the locals are too happy about the roads being closed,” one area resident said. Imagine the horror — a few hours of inconvenience for a sitting U.S. vice president. Truly unbearable.
This isn’t the first time Vance has faced pushback from the restaurant industry. Last September, he ran into trouble at a Pennsylvania eatery where staff claimed they hadn’t been warned about his arrival. After a brief uproar, the restaurant clarified that he wasn’t “banned” but instead welcomed once the “momentary confusion” was sorted out. Translation: they realized telling the next Vice President of the United States to leave wasn’t the best long-term business strategy.
The incident in Oxfordshire is just the latest reminder of how deeply poisoned Western culture has become by political theater. We’re now at the point where ordinary staffers at a pub think threatening a walkout over serving a conservative leader is a noble act of resistance. Spoiler alert: it’s not. It’s just another sign that cancel culture doesn’t stop at America’s shores — it’s gone global.
Vance, for his part, isn’t likely to lose sleep over a pint he didn’t get to order. The real takeaway here isn’t about beer, fish and chips, or Oxfordshire backroads — it’s about a society where basic civility has been replaced with performative outrage. And if the British think this kind of stunt embarrasses Vance, they should think again. All it does is remind conservatives everywhere why leaders like him are needed to push back against a culture that’s lost its common sense.
