(DC Pundit) – The firestorm inside the federal government over the Epstein files isn’t cooling down anytime soon, and now it looks like it could claim another high-profile name. FBI Director Kash Patel is reportedly so fed up with Attorney General Pam Bondi’s handling of the Epstein case that he’s considering stepping down if Deputy Director Dan Bongino walks away.
Yes, Bongino’s frustration could now lead to a full-blown shakeup at the top.
According to Axios and other outlets, Bongino didn’t show up for work Friday after a heated clash with Bondi over the Epstein documents. While some insiders thought he had already quit, others said he was simply taking a breather. Either way, the message was clear: Bongino is done playing along while Bondi sits on key files tied to one of the most powerful and disturbing scandals in recent American history.
Sources confirm to me the blow up between Dan Bongino and Pam Bondi is very real. This has been brewing for four months and came to a head at the White House on Wednesday.
He has not been in the office since.
Most of the frustration at FBI relates to her handling of Epstein…

And now, Patel may be following him out the door.
On Sunday night, Axios revealed that a new memo from the FBI and DOJ claimed that Jeffrey Epstein had no “client list” and wasn’t murdered in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019. According to the report, Epstein’s death is still being called a suicide, and no blackmail network is being acknowledged.
In other words, just another tidy little conclusion to a case that stinks to high heaven, and the American people are supposed to swallow it without question.
As Axios reported, Bongino was blamed internally for a “missing minute” in the surveillance footage, an oversight that conveniently adds another layer of confusion to an already suspicious story. CNN added fuel to the fire, reporting that Bongino has told people he’s thinking about resigning, though he hasn’t made a final decision.
But it was The Daily Wire that dropped the real bomb: Bongino has reportedly said he won’t stay at the FBI if Bondi remains at the DOJ. And not long after that report, The Daily Wire followed up with another — Kash Patel, too, is reaching his limit. He’s frustrated not only with Bondi’s refusal to release critical documents, but also with the overall stonewalling that’s kept the Epstein case sealed tighter than Fort Knox.
BREAKING: Source close to Dan Bongino tells me it’s either him or Pam Bondi, and that he won’t stay at FBI if she stays at DOJ.

MORE: Source close to DOJ says Kash Patel also wants Pam Bondi gone, and that he’d consider leaving if Bongino leaves. Also that there are more frustrations with other documents Bondi hasn’t released. https://t.co/e1WYXHxdRN

It doesn’t take a political genius to figure out why. Patel and Bongino aren’t exactly the types to cover for the rich and powerful. These are men who’ve made careers out of speaking the truth, even when it’s inconvenient. If they’re threatening to walk over this, it means the corruption is worse than most Americans realize.
Americans have been waiting for years to get real answers about Epstein’s network—who he trafficked, who he protected, and who helped him. Yet instead of transparency, we get conveniently timed memos, missing footage, and top-tier frustration from the very people tasked with cleaning up the mess.
The fact that Bongino and Patel are the ones now under pressure, rather than the people who’ve spent years blocking the full release of these documents, tells you everything you need to know.
At this point, the question isn’t whether there’s a cover-up. The question is: how far will they go to keep the Epstein files buried?
