(DC Pundit) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama has decided to skip President Trump’s inauguration ceremony on January 20. This marks her second snub of the soon-to-be 47th President in as many weeks, leaving many to wonder: What’s the real story here?
Contrary to the wild speculation that’s been circulating, the reasons behind Michelle’s absence are surprisingly straightforward. No, it’s not a looming divorce from Barack (as speculated in the X post below).
A source close to the former First Lady spoke to People Magazine, saying, “There’s no overstating her feelings about him (Trump). She’s not one to plaster on a pleasant face and pretend for protocol’s sake.” Well, isn’t that refreshing?
The source continued, “Michelle doesn’t do anything because it’s expected or it’s protocol or it’s tradition.”
There are strong rumors circulating about a possible divorce between Michelle "Big Mike" Obama and Barack Obama.

“She served in the public eye and did all the public good that she could for eight years as first lady,” the source added. “You’ll see her when she has a project or cause to promote but she doesn’t feel the need to be a public figure anymore.” Translation: Michelle’s done with the political circus unless she’s the ringmaster.
The Hill chimed in, backing up People Magazine’s scoop. An ally of Michelle’s stated, “She meant every word she said on the campaign trail with every fiber of her being. And she’s no hypocrite.”
A Michelle Obama aide added, “She campaigned the hardest against him personally, of anyone.”
Michelle’s husband, former President Barack Obama, will be attending the inauguration. He’ll be joined by fellow ex-presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, along with their wives. It’s like a presidential reunion, minus the one person who apparently didn’t get the memo about playing nice.
Interestingly, Barack Obama and Trump seemed to get along swimmingly at Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Who would have thought that it would take a somber occasion to make Barack Obama look like an easygoing statesman?

Michelle Obama’s absence from the inauguration is hardly earth-shattering news. It’s not like she’s plotting with Jill to refuse handing over the White House china or sabotaging the Rose Garden (we think). She’s simply exercising her right to say, “Thanks, but no thanks” to an event she’d rather skip.
