(DC Pundit) – If you thought New York City politics couldn’t possibly get more radical, allow me to introduce you to Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, open Marxist, mayoral hopeful, and son of a man who thinks we should stop calling suicide bombers “barbarians.” Because apparently, that’s just too judgmental.
Yes, this is real life.
Mahmood Mamdani, Zohran’s father, is a Harvard-educated academic and current professor at Columbia University. He’s also the author of “Good Muslim, Bad Muslim”, a book that takes a bold and frankly absurd position: that suicide bombers should be seen not as fanatical terrorists but as legitimate political “soldiers” reacting to colonial oppression.
In one particularly jarring excerpt, Mamdani writes, “Suicide bombing needs to be understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized.” Ah, yes — because blowing up innocent civilians should be placed under the same umbrella as, say, throwing tea into a harbor.
"Suicide bombing needs to be understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized as a mark of barbarism.”
This is what Zohran Mamdani has learned from his father.
No surprise he won't condemn the phrase, "Globalize the Intifada." pic.twitter.com/4DRZDdIAf1

This isn’t some obscure, fringe take. It’s part of a broader ideology embraced by far-left intellectuals who insist on blaming the West, particularly the United States, for every act of terror carried out in the name of radical Islam. Mamdani argues that “political Islam,” including movements that encourage suicide attacks, emerged as a reaction to “Western power dynamics,” especially during the Cold War. In short, he paints suicide bombers not as villains but as misunderstood victims of imperialist bullying.
To be clear, this is Marxism 101, the idea that individuals are never responsible for their own actions, only products of the systems they live under. Under this worldview, even the most monstrous behavior is excused, so long as it can be traced back to some vaguely defined historical grievance. Man isn’t a moral being; he’s just a cog in the machine of colonial fallout. A social construct with explosives strapped to his chest.
The implications of this worldview aren’t just academic. They’re political and extremely dangerous. Zohran Mamdani, who proudly carries the Democratic Socialist label and wants to run New York City, has made a name for himself pushing radical proposals, including rent cancellation, defunding the police, and open support for the anti-Israel BDS movement. Now we find out his father, who surely helped shape his views, is out here softening the image of suicide bombers.
If this is the kind of ideology floating around the dinner table, how would Mamdani govern the largest city in America? New Yorkers already face enough chaos without electing someone who comes from a household that rationalizes terrorism as a “response” to the West’s success.
For the sake of New York City’s future and the safety of its residents, let’s hope Zohran Mamdani remains a fringe figure and never gets a step closer to the mayor’s office.
