(DC Pundit) – When classified details about America’s most sensitive weapons stockpiles start showing up in newspaper headlines, someone in a position of trust has a very serious problem on their hands.

President Trump was reportedly furious after details about America’s weapons stockpiles, including long-range missiles, Patriot interceptors, and other critical munitions, turned up in media reports. The response from the Pentagon was swift and, by all accounts, unprecedented in scale.

Several dozen high-ranking military officials were subjected to polygraph examinations earlier this summer as part of a sweeping internal investigation into the leaks. Officials assigned to U.S. Central Command and other combatant commands were among those questioned. Sources described the scale of the operation as extraordinarily rare, while senior officials with top-secret clearances do undergo periodic polygraph exams, having this many summoned simultaneously made clear that investigators were running a targeted leak probe, not a routine check.

The New York Times added further detail, reporting that roughly 50 members of the Joint Staff were put through polygraphs in August following a wave of stories about depleted stocks of America’s most sophisticated weapons systems. Two sources indicated that none of the officials failed the questions specifically designed to identify the leaker. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine was reportedly not among those polygraphed.

Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell addressed the matter carefully, stating that the Department “does not comment on internal personnel or investigative matters but takes all leaks of classified national security information extremely seriously and investigates accordingly.” He added: “Securing classified information is critical to ensuring the security of the United States and of our troops deployed around the world.”

This isn’t the first time the Pentagon has confronted this problem under the current administration. Back in March 2025, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s then-chief of staff Joe Kasper sent a Pentagon-wide memo warning that polygraphs could be used “in accordance with applicable law and policy,” and that anyone identified as a leaker would be referred for criminal prosecution. When polygraphs began in the spring of 2025, a senior adviser reportedly complained to the White House and the tests were paused. Parnell dismissed the press coverage at the time as “Fake News Media’s obsession with months old workplace gossip.”

The leaks didn’t stop.

In July, Hegseth announced a joint Pentagon and Justice Department task force specifically tasked with identifying and prosecuting suspected leakers. He gave the Office of General Counsel broad authority to demand records and ordered personnel to respond within two days.

“When a leak of department information occurs today, it’s critical that we provide the Department of Justice and other partners in federal law enforcement, including the FBI, with actionable information as quickly as possible,” Hegseth said.

He also said something the legacy media conveniently buried in their coverage: “Leaked information risks lives.”

That’s the part that matters most, and it’s exactly the part that keeps getting left out.

FOX News In TURMOIL: Maria Bartiromo Allegedly Fired After Network Canceled Her Election Integrity Segment

(DC Pundit) – Maria Bartiromo, one of the most recognizable faces in financial and political journalism, is out at FOX News and FOX Business Network after more than 12 years with the network. And if the reports circulating about why she was shown the door are accurate, this is a much bigger story than a routine anchor departure.

FOX News Media kept it brief in their official statement: “Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media.” They added, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.” Professional, clean, and utterly devoid of any actual information, which is itself telling.

Bartiromo had been noticeably absent from her time slot for weeks before the announcement, so the writing was on the wall for those paying attention. What wasn’t clear until now is the reason behind it.

According to Dylan Byers of Puck News, Bartiromo was pushed out after FOX killed her story involving China and 2020 election fraud. She then reportedly took matters into her own hands and notified the White House that FOX had blocked her from pursuing the story. When FOX found out, they fired her.

Mike Nellis of Status News fleshed out the account further, reporting: “Status is reporting Fox fired Maria Bartiromo after she leaked internal texts to the White House showing the network had told staff to stop amplifying Trump’s latest election conspiracy theories. Trump has so thoroughly captured the right-wing media ecosystem that its biggest stars now see themselves as his informants first and journalists never.”

That last line is a pretty remarkable thing to put in print, and you can decide for yourself what to make of it. What’s harder to dismiss is the underlying question it raises: if FOX News was actively instructing staff to avoid certain stories, that’s worth knowing, regardless of which direction your politics lean.

Eric Trump weighed in on the departure, calling it a huge loss for FOX. Hard to argue with that assessment. Bartiromo built a reputation over decades as a serious journalist, she became the first woman to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and her morning programs drew a loyal conservative audience that trusted her to ask the tough questions others wouldn’t.

Following her firing, Bartiromo reportedly hired high-profile attorney Bryan Freedman, which suggests this story is far from over. Freedman is no stranger to high-stakes media disputes, having represented a number of prominent figures in major employment cases.

Whether Bartiromo lands at another network, launches her own venture, or pursues legal action against FOX remains to be seen. But this much is clear: her exit is messy, the circumstances are murky, and the audience she built over 12 years is going to want answers.

(DC Pundit) – President Trump has been fighting an uphill battle against activist judges since the day he first took office, and this week brought yet another reminder that the judicial branch has become a favorite playground for Democrats who can’t win the argument at the ballot box.

A federal judge in Greenbelt, Maryland blocked the Trump administration Wednesday from enforcing a new executive order targeting birthright citizenship. U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman, a Joe Biden appointee, because of course she is, issued a preliminary injunction after immigrant rights advocates asked her to step in. She had already blocked Trump’s original 2025 birthright citizenship order, so her willingness to do it again should shock absolutely no one.

Here’s the background. The U.S. Supreme Court on June 30 struck down Trump’s initial effort to end automatic citizenship for children born in the United States to parents who are neither American citizens nor legal permanent residents. The Court’s 6-3 ruling in Barbara v. Trump found the order violated the citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment, which grants citizenship to those born on U.S. soil who are “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”

Following that ruling, Trump signed a new executive order on August 6, this one taking direct aim at “birth tourism” — the practice of foreign nationals traveling to the United States specifically to give birth and secure automatic citizenship for their children. The order would also deny citizenship to children born to parents who work for foreign governments in the United States, engage in fraud or commercial transactions to obtain citizenship, or are classified as “alien enemies.”

Reasonable stuff, most Americans would say. Judge Boardman disagrees.

She ruled that the latest order “is almost certainly unconstitutional as applied to the certified class for the simple reason that the Supreme Court in Barbara already decided that the children in the class are citizens at birth.” She then declared: “This Court must, once again, preliminarily enjoin enforcement of the President’s most recent attempt to strip the right to citizenship from them.”

Her order bars the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Social Security Administration from taking any action that would interfere with or deny citizenship to those covered by the class action lawsuit.

The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 primarily to guarantee citizenship to formerly enslaved people, not to create a system where foreign nationals can board a plane, have a baby on American soil, and permanently anchor their family’s immigration status. Trump is trying to address a real problem, and a Biden-appointed judge is standing in the way.

The administration will almost certainly appeal, and this fight is far from over. But if the left can’t beat Trump at the polls, they’ll settle for beating him in the courtroom, one injunction at a time.

(DC Pundit) – If you needed any more evidence that California’s policies are creating problems well beyond its own borders, here it is, rolling down the highway at 70 miles per hour in an 80,000-pound rig.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection ran a targeted operation in the Yuma Sector between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14, and when the dust settled, agents had arrested 95 illegal alien truck drivers. Every single one of them was carrying a state-issued commercial driver’s license. Seventy-six of those licenses, that’s 80% for anyone keeping score, were issued by California. Six more came from New York, with the remainder spread across a handful of other states.

The Department of Homeland Security made sure to highlight that California figure, announcing it would continue working to get illegal truckers off American roads. Acting Chief Patrol Agent Dustin Caudle said the operation was aimed at protecting the public from “unlicensed or untrained drivers” as well as from smuggling networks operating in the region.

And the haul didn’t stop at truck drivers. Agents also broke up two separate human smuggling events, taking four smugglers and 17 smuggled migrants into custody. They seized 74 pounds of methamphetamine and 169 pounds of marijuana. In total, 143 suspects from 18 countries were arrested across the broader operation.

Let that sink in. One operation. One sector. Five days. One hundred and forty-three arrests spanning nearly twenty countries.

Commercial driver’s licenses are supposed to certify that the holder has passed rigorous federal and state testing for operating heavy trucks. What they don’t certify, particularly when issued by states like California, is whether the holder is legally present in the United States. Handing out professional credentials without verifying legal status isn’t compassion, it’s negligence.

DHS has not yet disclosed how many of the 95 drivers will face prosecution, deportation, or both. Their individual criminal histories were also not included in the initial public accounting, which means the full picture could look considerably worse once those records surface.

President Trump has floated a straightforward solution to the illegal trucker problem, replace them with American veterans who have served this country and deserve a shot at good-paying jobs in the transportation industry. It’s the kind of common-sense proposal that puts Americans first, which is precisely why the left can’t stand it.

Meanwhile, California will presumably keep doing what California does: issuing licenses, asking no inconvenient questions, and letting the rest of us deal with the fallout.

(DC Pundit) – If you ever need a reminder of why Americans have lost faith in their elected officials, just wait for Rep. Maxine Waters to open her mouth. It won’t take long.

The California Democrat, who has somehow managed to hold onto her congressional seat since 1991 despite a greatest hits reel of unhinged statements, recently told supporters that Democrats are doing “pretty good” heading into the midterms. Fine, whatever. But then she did what Maxine Waters does best: she made it weird.

Waters decided to warn her followers that tensions between mainstream Democrats and the hard-left DSA crowd are being manufactured, and naturally, she knows exactly who’s to blame.

“Some of the media, mostly the white media, are interested in a fight in order to get their ratings up,” Waters declared.

This is a sitting member of the United States Congress, someone entrusted with representing her constituents and crafting legislation, blaming internal Democratic Party chaos on “white media.” Not failed policies. Not a radical progressive wing that has dragged the party so far left it’s practically fallen off the map. Nope. White media. For the ratings.

The outlets apparently obsessing over Democrat infighting? That would be places like CNN and MSNBC, two networks that would sooner run a ticker tape parade for the Democratic Party than do anything to damage it. The idea that they’re stirring up trouble to juice their numbers at the Democrats’ expense is the kind of logic that only makes sense if you’ve completely abandoned logic altogether.

Waters has built an entire career on this kind of race-baiting grievance theater, and her constituents in California’s 43rd district keep sending her back to Washington to do it some more. Truly a testament to the power of low expectations.

The real story here isn’t media conspiracies, it’s that the Democrat Party is genuinely fracturing between its establishment wing and a socialist base that wants to blow the whole thing up and start over.

But rather than confront the actual problem, Waters reaches for the oldest and laziest card in the deck.

Is there a single Democrat in Washington who can go ten minutes without turning everything into a racial grievance? Asking for roughly half the country.

The fact that this woman is not only still in Congress but also running for reelection should tell you everything you need to know about the state of the modern Democratic Party.

(DC Pundit) – If you were wondering whether California’s leadership had finally hit rock bottom, wonder no more. They just ordered a shovel.

The Golden State has spent years perfecting the art of driving businesses away. Crushing tax rates, suffocating regulations, and Governor Gavin Newsom’s heavy-handed COVID lockdown policies sent companies fleeing to Texas, Florida, and anywhere else that doesn’t treat job creators like the enemy. The exodus has been well-documented and frankly embarrassing for a state that once led the nation in economic dynamism.

So naturally, Sacramento’s response is to double down.

California is now moving forward with legislation that would force companies to dig through their historical records and disclose any ties to slavery. Assembly Bill 2599 would require businesses with more than $100 million in annual worldwide sales to search their records for evidence that they, their predecessors, or subsidiaries bought or sold enslaved people, or provided financial support for those transactions, including through insurance or loans.

Here’s the part that really deserves a moment of quiet reflection: California was never a slave state. It entered the Union in 1850 as a free state. So the state’s lawmakers are demanding that companies excavate 19th century corporate genealogy to answer for an institution that California itself never legally practiced.

You genuinely cannot make this up.

The bill is already drawing pushback from the insurance industry, which argues it largely repeats an earlier California law already requiring insurers to disclose past policies issued to slaveholders covering the death or injury of enslaved people. New York Life Insurance Company, Aetna Life Insurance Company, and American International Group, known as AIG, were among the companies that previously disclosed ties to enslaved people and slaveholders under that earlier measure.

So the state already has a law doing a version of this. Their solution? More law.

Meanwhile, the businesses still stubbornly hanging on in California are watching this unfold and quietly updating their relocation spreadsheets. Between the taxes, the regulations, the crime, the homelessness crisis, and now mandatory corporate ancestry investigations, the cost-benefit analysis of staying in California gets harder to justify with each passing legislative session.

Newsom, for his part, appears completely uninterested in addressing any of the root causes pushing companies out. No serious tax reform. No meaningful regulatory relief. Just more compliance burdens stacked on top of the ones that already exist.

At some point, Sacramento has to reckon with the reality that you cannot punish your way to prosperity. Businesses are not going to stay in a state that treats them as piggy banks and political props, and no amount of historical disclosure requirements is going to change that math.

Will whoever’s left in California when the last business finally bolts please remember to hit the lights on the way out?

(DC Pundit) – New York Governor Kathy Hochul made headlines recently after video surfaced of her sporting a hijab while addressing a predominantly male Muslim audience in New York City. The footage, circulating widely online, shows the Democratic governor draped in a black headscarf during a visit publicized by the Islamic Center of New York.

“I want to thank His Excellency Mr. [Tareq] Albanai,” Hochul says in the clip, before extending gratitude to an imam and other officials associated with the organization.

In Islamic culture, the hijab is traditionally worn as a sign of “modesty,” meant to shield a woman’s body from the gaze of men. Which raises an obvious question, is Hochul genuinely embracing the tradition, or is this another calculated photo op from a politician who has never met a demographic she wouldn’t pander to?

This isn’t Hochul’s first rodeo with Islamic head coverings. In July 2025, she wore a headscarf while attending the funeral of slain Muslim NYPD Officer Didarul Islam. When Sen. Ted Cruz raised an eyebrow at the decision, Hochul fired back.

“I wore a headscarf to honor a fallen Muslim NYPD officer at his funeral. Respecting a grieving family’s faith is ‘wut’ leaders and anyone with basic decency would do,” she said.

She has previously recognized World Hijab Day, going so far as to praise women who wear the hijab, including those forced to wear it, as feminist advocates. Democratic lawmakers in New York have similarly championed the observance as a tool to combat supposed discrimination against Muslim women.

The left has spent decades positioning itself as the defender of women’s rights and bodily autonomy. Yet when it comes to a garment that, in many parts of the world, women are compelled to wear under threat of punishment, suddenly it becomes a symbol of empowerment worth celebrating. The mental gymnastics required to hold both of those positions simultaneously is impressive.

Hochul has made her priorities clear. Whether those priorities align with the values of everyday New Yorkers, particularly women who believe true freedom means never being told what to wear, is a conversation worth having.

(DC Pundit) – A Bronx mother who stabbed her 3-year-old and 11-month-old sons and submerged their bodies in a bathtub walked out of Bronx Criminal Court Monday without a single day of prison time, and New Yorkers are left to make sense of that.

Dimone Fleming, now 26, was found not criminally responsible for the November 26, 2022 killings of her two boys. Judge Audrey Stone accepted the insanity plea, with both prosecutors and the defense agreeing that Fleming was in a state of psychosis when she committed the murders. She could be held in a psychiatric facility, for months, or years, if doctors continue to assess her as dangerous. She could also eventually walk free.

Welcome to New York City justice, 2026 edition.

Fleming was originally charged with first-degree murder. According to court records cited by The New York Times, she stabbed both boys multiple times, placed them in the bathtub, covered their bodies with clothing and a sheet, left the faucet running, and left a stove burning. A shelter employee called 911 after water and smoke began pouring from the apartment.

Responding officers found Fleming partially naked, behaving erratically, and holding a children’s book upside down. They transported her to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation but initially failed to locate the children after being told they were with their father. Fleming’s then-boyfriend, Columbus Canada, later entered the apartment and discovered both boys unresponsive in the bathtub. Neighbors reportedly heard him screaming for help as he carried the children into the hallway. Both were rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Dr. Eric Goldsmith, a psychiatrist retained by the prosecution, concluded Fleming was “grossly psychotic and out of touch with reality” — hallucinating, convinced the world was ending, and believing a spirit had entered her body. Defense-retained doctors reached the same conclusion, claiming Fleming believed she was protecting or “cleansing” her children.

Prior to the killings, Fleming had received treatment for anxiety and depression, was diagnosed with major depressive disorder, was prescribed psychiatric medication she did not take as directed, and was reportedly using marijuana daily, which doctors said worsened her condition.

Unlike the high-profile Lindsay Clancy case, this case was resolved with barely a whisper of national attention.

Bronx Assistant District Attorney Tiffany Wichman told the court: “Prosecuting mothers does not and cannot prevent these crimes from happening, but public discourse might.”

Fleming’s attorney praised prosecutors for sidestepping a murder trial altogether.

Two little boys are dead. Their father found them in a bathtub. And the system calls this justice.

Fleming returns to court September 18 for further evaluation. She is not in prison. She is not free. And those two boys are still gone.

(DC Pundit) – CNN has issued an apology after the network aired a photo of a Las Vegas Dolly Parton impersonator during a tribute segment following the country legend’s death.

The blunder unfolded during a broadcast of Laura Coates Live, roughly 12 hours after Parton’s passing. Instead of pulling one of the countless iconic images of the beloved singer, and there are hundreds of millions of moments to choose from, CNN’s crack research team somehow landed on a photo of 58-year-old Kelly Vohnn, a well-known Parton tribute performer based in Las Vegas. The internet, predictably, was not amused.

“We regret the error and apologize to the Parton family,” CNN said in a brief statement.

Vohnn, who learned of her accidental television debut the hard way, told the California Post that her phone lit up immediately. “I started getting all these texts in from friends saying that I was on CNN, and I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I was already heartbroken at losing Dolly because of how much she has given to me as a woman and an artist. But then to see these images of me on screen was just weird.”

She didn’t hold back in assessing the network’s competence either. “Somebody at CNN really messed up and didn’t do their research,” Vohnn said. “I felt so sorry and apologetic for Dolly, because over her career there are so many wonderful images and moments that they could have chosen from — and CNN just picked something not appropriate. To be clear, I have never represented myself as being Dolly ever in my life. I have always been known as a tribute act for her and many other stars.”

Parton’s representatives confirmed that the American icon passed away following a brief battle with cancer at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, surrounded by loved ones. “Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity into everything she touched,” her reps said. “Her unmatched generosity reached the lives of countless people whom she would never meet, yet she was always there to offer a helping hand.”

The statement also highlighted her extraordinary philanthropic legacy, hundreds of millions of books donated through her Imagination Library, and funding for research that helped produce a life-saving vaccine used worldwide.

Her passing was announced via video by nephew Bryan Seaver, who had served as her head of security for over two decades. “As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father, Larry, held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now,” he said.

Parton’s health had become a concern in fall 2025, when she was forced to cancel a six-show December residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

As for CNN, anyone with half a brain and a functioning set of eyes could tell at a glance that the woman in that photo was not the real Dolly Parton. This is the kind of embarrassing, sloppy journalism that has become standard operating procedure over at CNN. Par for the course from a network that has spent years hemorrhaging credibility.
