(DC Pundit) – Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas is back in the spotlight, and once again, not for anything resembling a rational take. During a recent appearance on the Hasan Minhaj podcast, Crockett offered up a claim so detached from reality that even CNN might consider fact-checking it.
According to Crockett, all political violence in the United States is the fault of one group: MAGA Republicans. Yes, you read that correctly. The far-left lawmaker boldly declared, “Violence doesn’t come from Democrats, just to be clear. Obviously, anyone can be a criminal. But it is MAGA. It is the specifically MAGA faction.”

In other words, forget about the summer of BLM riots, the destruction of federal buildings, the targeting of police officers, and the recent attacks in Los Angeles by anti-ICE radicals — all of that, apparently, never happened. Or at least, Crockett would like you to believe it didn’t.
The congresswoman’s comments took an even more bizarre turn when she linked President Trump’s two recent assassination attempts to Trump supporters themselves. Yes, really.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett claims, “violence is all coming from MAGA, not the left.” This is demonstrably false.

Discussing both incidents, one involving the July 13 assassination attempt on President Trump by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks in Pennsylvania, and the other involving Ryan Wesley Routh, Crockett stated that both were “Trump supporters.” There is, of course, no evidence to support that claim. None.
In fact, Crooks has not been linked to any political motive by authorities. As for the second alleged assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, records show he was a Bernie Sanders supporter during the 2020 primary. Now unless Sanders switched parties and joined a MAGA rally recently — spoiler: he didn’t — Crockett’s claim crumbles under even the lightest scrutiny.
From riots that caused billions in damage in 2020, to attacks on ICE facilities and federal courthouses, to the harassment of Supreme Court justices outside their homes following the Dobbs decision — these weren’t quiet Sunday brunch protests with mimosas. These were violent, often coordinated efforts pushed by far-left activists, many proudly waving their progressive credentials as they lit fires, looted stores, and assaulted law enforcement.
More recently, radical pro-illegal immigration protesters stormed the streets of Los Angeles, blocking traffic and vandalizing property in protest of lawful ICE operations. But somehow, Crockett still believes it’s only MAGA hats causing trouble.
To Crockett and others on the left, facts don’t matter. The violence doesn’t count unless it can be pinned, however falsely, on Trump or his supporters. It’s projection 101.
The reality is this: Americans on both sides of the aisle have condemned political violence. But only one side continues to ignore or even excuse it when it comes from their own base. Crockett’s statement is false and dangerous. It paints millions of patriotic Americans as threats while giving violent leftists a free pass.
