(DC Pundit) – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is taking no prisoners in his latest move to drain the swamp of runaway Democrats in the Lone Star State. On Friday, he filed a “historic” lawsuit with the Texas Supreme Court aiming to declare all 13 of the fugitive Democrats’ seats officially vacant.
“The rogue Democrat legislators who fled the state have abandoned their duties, leaving their seats vacant,” Paxton declared. “These cowards deliberately sabotaged the constitutional process and violated the oath they swore to uphold.”
In case there was any doubt, Paxton made it clear: “Their out-of-state rebellion cannot go unchecked, and the business of Texas must go on. I have asked the Texas Supreme Court to declare what has been clear from the beginning: that the runaway members have officially vacated their offices in the Texas House.”

This latest legal salvo follows Paxton’s earlier warning on Tuesday, when he vowed to seek judicial orders to strip seats from any Democrats who refused to return by the Speaker’s deadline to cast votes. It’s a no-nonsense approach that leaves zero room for political grandstanding or excuses about “protesting” by running off to another state.

Paxton’s assault on the Democrats isn’t stopping at just the legislators themselves. On Thursday, he launched an investigation into the Texas Majority PAC (TMP), a George Soros-funded political action committee that’s been busy funding and coordinating the escapades of these lawmakers.
This particular PAC has deep ties to former staffers of none other than Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke — the radical left-wing goof who loves to show up at all the wrong places. According to Paxton, TMP played a “coordinating role” in illegal fundraising and possibly bribing House members to keep the standoff going.
Just days before, Paxton kicked off a criminal probe into O’Rourke’s own PAC for unlawfully financing the Democrats’ flight. Reports revealed that O’Rourke’s PAC paid for the private jet that whisked the Texas Democrats off to Illinois, all so they could block the GOP’s redistricting efforts.
If you thought the Democrat lawmakers’ move was just a harmless stunt, think again. They not only abandoned their responsibilities but also relied on shady money from radical left-wing sources to fund their little rebellion.
Paxton’s moves send a clear message: Texas will not tolerate political grandstanding disguised as protest, especially when it involves abandoning the people who put you in office.
While the media may clutch their pearls and cry “democracy in danger,” Texans watching this play out know exactly who is standing for law and order—and who’s running away from it.
