(DC Pundit) – Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) has announced on X that she will file a House resolution to boot Omar from every single committee she currently sits on — and honestly, it’s long overdue.
The move comes after Omar’s vile reaction to the cold-blooded assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Instead of condemning the politically motivated murder of one of America’s most prominent conservative voices, Omar chose to smirk and mock the tragedy during an interview. It was an appalling display, even for someone who has built a career out of pushing anti-American rhetoric.
The Somalia-born Democrat, already infamous for anti-Semitic remarks and cozying up to terrorist sympathizers, went on disgraced MSNBC personality Mehdi Hasan’s show and mocked Kirk. She even accused others of lying for suggesting Kirk wanted civil debate instead of division.

Let that sink in: a sitting member of Congress mocked the assassination of an American citizen because she didn’t like his politics.
Mace laid out the case against Omar with brutal clarity. “Ilhan Omar has shown us exactly who she is: she defends political violence and refuses to condemn the loss of innocent lives when it doesn’t suit her agenda, even the cold-blooded assassination of Charlie Kirk. It’s dangerous, disgraceful, and beneath the United States Congress. She must be stripped of every committee assignment. No excuses.”

Omar’s behavior is part of a larger problem in the Democratic Party: the refusal to draw a line between free speech and outright cheering for violence. When Republican lawmakers or conservative commentators face threats, harassment, or worse, the Left either shrugs or — in this case — applauds. Meanwhile, these same Democrats pretend to be the guardians of “democracy” while openly celebrating political violence.
The truth is, someone like Ilhan Omar has no business holding any seat of influence in Congress. Stripping her of all committee assignments is not just the right move, it’s the bare minimum.
Mace’s resolution is a test. Will Democrats stand by and protect one of their own, no matter how revolting her comments? Or will they finally show that even they have limits when it comes to endorsing political violence?
If Congress can’t take action against Omar after this, what message does that send? That mocking the assassination of political opponents is fair game? That violence is acceptable as long as it’s directed at conservatives?
For once, Democrats should put country over party and join Republicans in removing Omar from her posts. The American people deserve a Congress that condemns political violence, not one that laughs about it on national television.
