(DC Pundit) – If you thought warp drives and time travel were just for science fiction, buckle up, because the federal government might already be playing with that technology behind the scenes. At least, that’s what Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, is suggesting.
Speaking at the Endless Frontiers Retreat in Austin, Texas, Kratsios told attendees that American technology has reached a level where it can actually “manipulate time and space.” Now, he didn’t break out a DeLorean or start quoting Einstein, but the implications of what he said are enough to make China and Russia very nervous, and perhaps a few Americans a little curious about just what else our government has been cooking up in the classified labs.
“We seem to have lost focus and vision, to have lowered our sights and let systems and structures and bureaucracies muddle us along. But we are capable of so much more. Our technologies permit us to manipulate time and space. They leave distance, violated, cause things to grow and improve productivity,” Kratsios stated.

And in case anyone was wondering whether this was just theoretical fluff, President Trump offered a conveniently timed follow-up during a press event last week.
“We have weaponry that nobody has any idea what it is. And it is the most powerful in the world… not even close,” Trump said. He didn’t elaborate further, but the message was loud and clear: America has been holding its cards very close to the chest.
For those unfamiliar, Trump has long hinted at classified defense capabilities that would make a Bond villain blush. And if you think this is all just hot air, you probably forgot DARPA exists. Since 1958, the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has been responsible for everything from stealth tech to the early internet. If DARPA is the prototype factory, Kratsios is the guy reminding us the future might already be here, just hidden behind a few dozen security clearances and thousands of pages of redacted documents.
Kratsios also took a well-aimed swipe at the Biden administration for stifling American innovation and weaponizing bureaucracy. “The old regime sought to protect its managerial power from the disruptions of technology, while promoting social division and redistribution in the name of equity,” he said. “They secured American technology poorly, and failed to strengthen our leadership at all.”
Translation: the previous administration was too busy pandering to woke activists and throwing tax dollars at identity politics to care about leading the world in science and technology. Big shocker there.
He called for breakthroughs in AI, biotechnology, and semiconductors—provided federal agencies get out of their own way. According to a recent directive from the Trump White House, departments are now encouraged to “maximize” the use of advanced technology to improve infrastructure and productivity. Radical concept: stop being afraid of progress and start building again.
Kratsios ended his speech with a call to arms: “It is the choices of individuals that will make the new American Golden Age possible: the choice of individuals to master the sclerosis of the state, and the choice of individuals to craft new technologies and give themselves to scientific discoveries that will bend time and space, make more with less, and drive us further into the endless frontier.”
Will the usual suspects in the media mock this? Absolutely. Somewhere, a New York Times editor is probably trying to figure out how to blame time travel on climate change and white supremacy. But for the rest of us, especially those who still believe in American exceptionalism, this is exactly the kind of leadership and boldness we’ve been waiting for.
The future is here. And thanks to Trump’s leadership, America might finally stop apologizing for being the best at it.
