(DC Pundit) – If you ever want a front-row seat to media discomfort, just turn on CNN when they’re forced to report good economic news under President Donald Trump.
That exact moment arrived this week when the network reluctantly acknowledged that inflation is cooling off — including the inconvenient detail that “core inflation” has hit its lowest annual level since 2021. The year Joe Biden took office and immediately sent gas prices, grocery bills, and household budgets into orbit. Funny how timelines work.
CNN’s admission was brief, uncomfortable, and clearly not part of the day’s preferred narrative. The media has spent years predicting economic catastrophe under Trump, warning of everything from runaway inflation to fiscal doom. Instead, viewers were treated to the opposite: hard numbers showing prices stabilizing and consumer pressure easing.

That’s got to sting.
The left-wing press would love nothing more than to plaster “Trump Economy Falters” across every headline. Unfortunately for them, reality keeps getting in the way. Even their own reporting now confirms that inflation is moving in the right direction — something they tried desperately to credit to anyone except the man actually running the country.
This may come as a shock to the professional pundit class, but Trump has done this before. During his first term, Americans saw strong job growth, rising wages, and manageable inflation until COVID disruptions slammed the global economy. His administration’s emphasis on domestic energy production, deregulation, and business-friendly policies delivered tangible results — and those same principles are clearly working again.
Of course, the so-called experts were wrong. Again.

They promised chaos. They predicted collapse. What they got instead was “core inflation” at its lowest point in years — a statistic CNN couldn’t spin away fast enough.
Trump knows what he’s doing. He has a proven record on this. And while the media continues rooting against him, everyday Americans are quietly benefiting from policies that actually prioritize economic stability over progressive talking points.
Sometimes the truth slips through, even on CNN. And when it does, it’s worth savoring.
