(DC Pundit) – New details have emerged surrounding the death of Alex Pretti, revealing that the 37-year-old had been injured during a confrontation with federal agents in Minneapolis just one week before he was shot dead.
According to a source who spoke with CNN, Pretti suffered a broken rib after being tackled by federal officers during a protest against Trump’s immigration crackdown. The source said the injury happened after Pretti stopped his vehicle when he saw Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers chasing a family on foot.
Pretti allegedly began shouting and blowing a whistle, drawing attention to the situation. At that point, the source claims, he was tackled to the ground by five agents. One officer reportedly leaned on his back, causing the rib injury. Pretti, an ICU nurse by profession, allegedly “thought he was going to die” during the encounter. Despite the injury, he was reportedly released at the scene.

Federal officers are believed to have kept documented details related to Pretti, though it remains unclear when that information collection began or how extensive it was. What is known is that authorities were actively tracking individuals involved in protests that had, in many cases, turned confrontational.
Pretti was an agitator who repeatedly inserted himself into volatile situations. In cities where tensions are already high, those choices can carry serious and irreversible consequences.
