(DC Pundit) – Chaos and violence hit Utah Valley University on Tuesday when Charlie Kirk, the outspoken co-founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, was shot while hosting his “Prove Me Wrong” tour event, also known as the “American Comeback” tour. The incident happened under a campus tent where Kirk was speaking to students and supporters.

Campus police confirmed that a single shot was fired, striking Kirk in the neck. He was quickly rushed to receive medical attention, and thankfully, his condition has been stabilized. Authorities announced that the suspect was immediately taken into custody, but details about the individual remain under investigation.

This horrifying attack is just the latest example of escalating hostility toward conservatives. For years, universities have been breeding grounds for left-wing activism, censorship, and outright intolerance toward anyone who doesn’t fall in line with progressive orthodoxy. But this time, the consequences were far more than canceled speaking events or protestors screaming into megaphones, this was a targeted act of violence.

Vice President J.D. Vance called for prayers for Kirk and his family, writing on X, “Say a prayer for Charlie Kirk, a genuinely good guy and a young father.” That’s a sentiment shared by conservatives nationwide who see this as more than just an attack on one man, it’s an attack on free speech itself.

Kirk’s Turning Point USA organization has built a massive network of students who refuse to bow down to progressive ideology. That alone makes him a constant target of media hit jobs and liberal outrage. But when rhetoric against conservatives is so often excused, or even encouraged by the left, no one should be surprised when it spills over into violence.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that radical hostility toward conservatives is a growing threat in this country. He’s been right all along. Whether it’s the media demonizing Republicans, activists harassing conservatives in public, or now, a shooting at a campus event, the climate of hate is not coming from the right.

Kirk is a fighter, prayers for him.

(DC Pundit) – The depravity of some people never ceases to shock, and the latest case out of Charlotte, North Carolina, is no exception. The man responsible for murdering 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska has finally broken his silence, and his explanation is as outrageous as the crime itself.

Zarutska, who had fled her war-torn homeland seeking safety and a fresh start, was stabbed multiple times and left for dead at the East/West Boulevard light rail station at 10 P.M. ET on August 22. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed her tragic death, and authorities quickly identified 34-year-old Decarlos Brown Jr. as the perpetrator. He has since been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

In what can only be described as a jaw-dropping attempt at rationalization, Brown claimed during a phone call with his sister, recorded and obtained by the Daily Mail, that he had no control over his actions because the federal government “put material” in his body. When his sister pressed him on why he specifically targeted Zarutska, Brown offered the baffling reply that the material “lashed out at her.”

It’s worth noting that millions of Americans live with mental illnesses every day without harming innocent people. Brown’s excuse is not just implausible, it’s an affront to reason and decency. Further undermining his claims, leaked video footage shows Brown apparently saying, “I got that White girl,” immediately after the murder, suggesting a potential racial motive that any defense attorney will have a hard time explaining away.

WBTV released surveillance footage showing the brutal attack, and additional videos circulating online have made it painfully clear how vicious this act was. President Trump has called for swift justice, insisting that Brown face trial and the death penalty for this monstrous crime. Considering the graphic nature of the murder, and the fact that the victim was a defenseless refugee seeking safety, it’s hard to argue otherwise.

Evil can strike anywhere, and it underscores the need for accountability in our justice system.

The judge who released Decarlos Brown Jr, murderer of Iryna Zarutska, was Magistrate Judge Teresa Stokes.

She freed Brown in January 2025, approximately seven months before the fatal stabbing on August 22, 2025.

(DC Pundit) – Another day, another catastrophic failure of the so-called “justice system.” This time, it’s a repeat offender who should never have been back on the streets in the first place.

Anthony Jelks, a 25-year-old career criminal, was released from jail in Baton Rouge and, just weeks later, allegedly raped a 4-year-old child and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease. Yes, a man with a rap sheet longer than most people’s resumes was walking free, and now a little girl is paying the price.

“We’ve arrested him six times over the last 6 or 7 years,” Police Chief T.J. Morse told WAFB. “Everything from firearms charges to domestic abuse battery, violation of protective orders. He’s currently on probation.”

Court documents obtained by WAFB show a disturbing pattern. Jelks had been arrested for punching a woman in the face, domestic abuse battery with serious bodily injury, child endangerment, and firearms charges. Yet, for reasons only a bureaucrat could defend, this man was walking the streets again.

According to police, Jelks committed his most recent crime on August 1. He raped a 4-year-old child and infected her with chlamydia. He finally turned himself in to authorities on Monday morning. But for the family of that child, the damage is done—irreversible, heartbreaking, and entirely preventable.

This is what happens when politicians and judges push “soft-on-crime” policies that treat violent offenders like misunderstood choirboys. Instead of protecting the public, the system bends over backward to give criminals endless second chances, third chances, and apparently even seventh chances. Meanwhile, innocent people are the ones who suffer.

We’ve heard Democrats lecture endlessly about “criminal justice reform” and the need to give offenders opportunities to “reintegrate.” Here’s the ugly truth: putting violent, repeat offenders back on the streets doesn’t reform anything. It endangers the public and all but guarantees tragedies like this one.

America doesn’t need more excuses for violent offenders. It needs accountability, real punishment, and a system that prioritizes victims over predators. Until then, stories like this will keep repeating.

(DC Pundit) – Letitia James, New York’s Attorney General and self-proclaimed crusader against “financial fraud,” may have written the opening chapter of her own downfall. Mortgage records reveal that James signed off on what appears to be a fraudulent $200,000 “Credit Line Mortgage” with Citizens Bank back in 2021 and the penalties tied to her actions could carry serious prison time.

According to the documents, James misrepresented her five-unit apartment building in Brooklyn as a single-family dwelling. Why? Because commercial mortgages for multi-family properties come with much steeper costs and higher interest rates. By downgrading her property on paper, James avoided thousands in fees and landed herself a cheaper deal. That’s not a paperwork error, it’s deception.

The Certificate of Occupancy for James’s building at 296 Lafayette Avenue is crystal clear: it is legally designated as a “FIVE (5) FAMILY DWELLING.” Yet for two decades, James refinanced her property by claiming it had fewer units — first four, and then in 2021, she went all in by calling it a one-family home.

She’s been exposed again for mortgage fraud with Citizens Bank in 2021, after allegedly misrepresenting her 5-unit Brooklyn building as a single-family home to secure a $200K credit line.

The financial incentive is obvious. Commercial closing costs can run up to seven times higher than residential ones, and interest rates for commercial loans often climb 1–3 percentage points above what homeowners pay. The mortgage James signed showed her total “Fees and Taxes” were just $4,070. Had she been truthful, her costs would have skyrocketed to $20,000 or more, plus a commercial appraisal, legal fees, and other expenses.

Here’s the kicker: under New York Penal Law Article 187, fraud involving loans over $50,000 qualifies as Mortgage Fraud in the Second Degree, a Class C felony punishable by up to 15 years behind bars. But because Citizens Bank is federally insured, federal statutes raise the stakes even higher, with penalties of up to 30 years in prison. The statute of limitations on her 2021 loan doesn’t expire until at least 2026, meaning prosecutors still have time to act.

And let’s not forget, James herself has argued — repeatedly — that fraud is still fraud even if no bank loses a dime. That was her entire case against President Donald Trump, when she declared, “When powerful people cheat to get better loans, it comes at the expense of honest and hardworking people. Everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank to get a mortgage to buy a home, and if they did, our government would throw the book at them. There simply cannot be different rules for different people.”

Well, well. By her own definition, James looks like a walking case study in hypocrisy. She set the standard, and now she’s been caught red-handed breaking it.

The reality is simple: if the same rules apply to everyone, then James should be staring down an indictment. New York Attorney General Letitia James built her career claiming no one is above the law. Now she might get the chance to prove she was right — from the defendant’s table.

(DC Pundit) – Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) are putting the political class on notice: the Epstein cover-up is ending. On Wednesday, both vowed to read the names of Epstein’s abusers and enablers out loud on the House floor if that’s what it takes to drag the truth into the sunlight. Considering how many elites have been hiding in the shadows for years, you can almost hear the panic at D.C. cocktail parties.

The moment came during a press conference where victims, hosted by Greene, Massie, and Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), broke decades of silence. Their demand was simple: justice and transparency. Meanwhile, the Department of Justice continues to sit on a mountain of files.

Massie is pushing the Epstein Transparency Act to pry those files open. His discharge petition would force a full House vote requiring the DOJ to release almost everything, with only the victims’ private information redacted. The guilty, however, would no longer have the government running cover for them.

Epstein survivor Lisa Phillips remarked, “We know the names. Many of us were abused by them. We will compile the names we all know were regularly in the Epstein world, and it will be done by survivors and for survivors; no one else involved.” Translation: survivors are tired of the media’s kid-glove treatment of Epstein’s powerful pals.

Chauntee Davies went further, openly tying former President Bill Clinton to the Epstein orbit, recalling a trip to Africa with him while she was being “manipulated” and abused. For years, the press has treated Clinton’s connections to Epstein as some fringe conspiracy theory. Turns out it wasn’t the tinfoil crowd making things up, it was the establishment trying to keep the lid screwed down tight.

Greene, in trademark fashion, promised she’ll do what others are too scared to attempt. “If they want to give me a list, I will walk in that Capitol on the House floor, and I’ll say every damn name that abused these women,” she told reporters. Greene admitted the survivors could be sued “into poverty and homelessness” by “some of the richest, most powerful people in the world,” but she isn’t backing down.

Massie confirmed his petition is already at 214 signatures, just four shy of forcing the vote. “I’m 99% certain we’ll get 218,” he said, while warning that Speaker Mike Johnson might try a procedural stunt to protect the establishment.

For years, the rich and connected thought Epstein’s secrets would be buried with him. Greene and Massie are betting otherwise, and judging by the fury of survivors finally speaking out, Washington’s elite may soon find their names echoing from the House floor.
