California Plans To Resist Trump’s Deportation Efforts – You Won’t Believe The Price Tag

(DC Pundit) – The California legislature is mulling over a supplemental budget that would allocate $15 million to nonprofits assisting illegal immigrants in avoiding deportation. This proposal is part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s broader strategy to resist the incoming Trump administration’s policies.

The funding proposal emerged on December 3, the first day of a special session called by Newsom. It’s a component of a larger $60 million package, more than doubling the $25 million initially requested by the governor. This comes hot on the heels of state budget analysts warning that California’s $2 billion deficit could balloon to a whopping $20 billion by 2026.

State Senate President Pro Tem Mike McGuire (D.) stated, “We’re in the calm before the storm and we know the hurricane force winds are about to hit from the incoming federal administration—it’s time to get prepared and batten down the hatches.”

Newsom, already eyeing a potential 2028 presidential run, has vowed to secure funding for legal challenges against the Trump administration’s expected policies on various hot-button issues. He’s also committed to opposing Trump’s promises to deport illegal immigrants with criminal records, despite surveys showing majority support for such deportations.

The proposed budget breakdown includes $10 million for the Department of Social Services to provide grants for immigration legal services and removal defense. The department has already doled out $37 million this year to pro-migration nonprofits like Al Otro Lado, Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, and Chinese for Affirmative Action.

Another $5 million would go to the California Access to Justice Commission, a nonprofit that would facilitate pro bono legal services for vulnerable communities and support data security projects.

The California State Bar’s Legal Services Trust Fund Commission would receive $10 million, likely benefiting illegal immigrants through legal services for those at risk of detention, deportation, or eviction.

This proposed spending spree comes at a time when California’s budget watchdog is waving red flags. Legislative analyst Gabriel Petek warned on November 20, “There is really no capacity for new commitments because we do estimate there to be pretty significant operating deficits in subsequent years.”

Despite these warnings, McGuire defended the additional spending, declaring it “will help protect the people, policies, and progress of the Golden State.”

As California grapples with this financial tightrope walk, it’s clear that the state’s leadership is betting the farm on their resistance strategy. Whether this gamble will pay off or not remains to be seen. One thing’s for certain: with budget deficits looming and political tensions high, California’s fiscal future is anything but certain.

This information comes from a hush-hush order sent to Congress, which the Washington Free Beacon managed to get its hands on.

On November 8, Secretary of State Antony Blinken made the call that it was in Uncle Sam’s best interest to waive those pesky economic sanctions. These sanctions had been keeping Iraq from passing along up to $10 billion to Iran for electricity imports. It’s like giving your neighbor a blank check to pay their power bill, only on a much larger scale.

The Biden-Harris team has been renewing this waiver like clockwork, much to the chagrin of Republican lawmakers. These GOP members have been crying foul, warning that this cash influx could be fueling terrorism and Iran’s ongoing conflict with Israel. In one instance, the administration gave the green light for sanctions relief just a month after Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel.

This latest waiver gives Iran a 120-day breather from sanctions. When that clock runs out, it’ll be up to the incoming Trump administration to decide whether to keep the money tap flowing or turn it off.

It’s worth noting that the first Trump administration also approved this waiver, which ruffled some Republican feathers. However, they kept a tighter leash on the funds. The Biden State Department, on the other hand, loosened the reins last year. They allowed Iran to swap Iraqi dinars for euros and park that cash in Omani banks. It’s like upgrading from a piggy bank to a Swiss account – suddenly, spending that money on the international market becomes a whole lot easier.

When asked about the waiver, State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters, “We remain committed to reducing Iran’s malign influence in the region. Our viewpoint is that a stable, sovereign, and secure Iraq is critical to these efforts.” It’s a bit like saying you’re on a diet while ordering a triple cheeseburger, but who are we to judge?

The Biden State Department insists that Iran can only use these funds for humanitarian needs, like medicine and supplies. But Republican critics aren’t buying it. They argue that money is money, and with more cash in their pockets, Tehran might find it easier to funnel resources to their regional terror proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

(DC Pundit) – Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) found herself under attack on Tuesday evening when an alleged LGBTQ activist launched an assault on her within the hallowed halls of the U.S. Capitol.

The incident, which occurred around 6:00 p.m. in the Rayburn House Office Building, sent ripples through the political sphere. According to Fox5DC, law enforcement wasted no time in nabbing the suspect:

“Officers from the House Division and agents with the Threat Assessment Section were able to swiftly locate the suspect, identified as James McIntyre, 33, of Illinois. Following an investigative interview, McIntyre was arrested and charged with assaulting a government official.”

Mace took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her side of the story.

“I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-trns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine. The Capitol police arrested the guy. Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO,” she declared, urging her supporters to “Hold the Line.”

The South Carolina representative recently introduced legislation that would require members of Congress to use restrooms aligning with their biological sex. This move was widely seen as a not-so-subtle jab at incoming Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), who’s set to make history as the first transgender member of Congress.

Since unveiling her contentious bill, Mace has found herself in the crosshairs of LGBTQ activists, who have been plastering her office with signs and stickers.

As this story continues to unfold, one thing’s for certain: Nancy Mace isn’t going to take this lying down. It seems she’s determined to stick to her guns, come hell or high water.

The ‘A League Of Their Own’ star quickly dismissed the idea that sun exposure was the culprit, stating, “Now, I did sit in the sun yesterday, but I had sunscreen on, so, I don’t know. I will let you know tomorrow if I do, in fact, have herpes.”

But that wasn’t all O’Donnell had on her mind. She shifted gears to address what she described as “some of the taunting from the MAGA people in the last couple of weeks.” In a moment of defiance, she quipped, “Hasn’t it been fun, ladies and gentlemen, to be standing in direct opposition to everything he is and represents?”

During a follow-up video posted on Sunday O’Donnell confirmed what many had suspected: “Yup, everybody, it’s a cold sore,” she announced, adding, “Stress can do horrible things.”

When it came to explaining the source of her stress, instead of pointing to the usual suspects – work, relationships, or the state of the world – she cited an unexpected concern: UFOs. It seems the comedian has been keeping one eye on the sky, and it’s taking its toll.

In October, she waded into murky waters by spreading an unsubstantiated theory about the assassination attempt on President-elect Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. Her claim that shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks’ bullet didn’t actually strike Trump in the ear was quickly debunked, but it added fuel to the already blazing fire of political discourse.

(DC Pundit) – In a move that’s left many parents stunned, the U.S. Supreme Court has decided to let stand a controversial ruling on parental rights and school policies regarding gender transitions.

The 7th U.S. District Court of Appeals previously ruled that parents had no basis to stand on when challenging a school district’s policy of secretly encouraging children to explore transgender identities. The Supreme Court’s decision not to hear the case effectively gives this ruling the green light, much to the chagrin of those who believe parents should be kept in the loop about such significant matters.

Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and Clarence Thomas were not on board with this decision. Alito stated, “This case presents a question of great and growing national importance: whether a public school district violates parents’ ‘fundamental constitutional right to make decisions concerning the rearing of’ their children…when, without parental knowledge or consent, it encourages a student to transition to a new gender or assists in that process.”

Thomas remarked, “We are told that more than 1,000 districts have adopted such policies.”

The case originated from the Eau Claire Area School District in Wisconsin, where parents took issue with a policy that helps facilitate gender identity transitions while keeping parents in the dark. The 7th Circuit, however, claimed the parents hadn’t been directly impacted by the policy.

The parents argued, “As any parent knows, parental authority includes the right (and the solemn responsibility) to say no to children’s often short-sighted desires when necessary to protect them from themselves.” It’s a sentiment that many parents across the country can likely relate to.

Alito further highlighted the crux of the issue, stating, “[T]he challenged policy and associated equity training specifically encourage school personnel to keep parents in the dark about the ‘identities’ of their children, especially if the school believes that the parents would not support what the school thinks is appropriate. Thus, the parents’ fear that the school district might make decisions for their children without their knowledge and consent is not ‘speculative.’ … They are merely taking the school district at its word.”

This decision comes at a time when the transgender ideology has been gaining traction, despite the scientific reality that biological sex is determined at the DNA level and doesn’t change. The issue has become a polarizing political topic, with the Biden-Harris administration promoting it both at home and abroad.

As it stands, the Supreme Court’s decision to sit this one out means that schools can continue to facilitate gender transitions without parental knowledge or consent. It’s a situation that’s likely to keep many parents up at night, wondering what’s really going on behind school doors.

(DC Pundit) – In what looked like a scene straight out of a horror movie, a chainsaw-wielding maniac decided to crash a nursing home in Illinois last weekend.

It all went down at River Glen of St. Charles, a place where our seniors should be enjoying their golden years, not dodging power tools. According to the St. Charles Police Department, they got a call about a shirtless guy trying to play lumberjack on the property. But this wasn’t your average tree-trimming service, oh no.

Before the boys in blue could arrive, our wannabe Texas Chainsaw Massacre star decided to take his act indoors. He burst into the lobby, revved up his chainsaw and started threatening the residents.

Responding officers tried to talk him down, but this guy wasn’t exactly in a listening mood. They even attempted to zap him with a Taser. Finally, one officer had to pull the trigger on his service weapon.

Despite their best efforts to patch him up, our chainsaw enthusiast didn’t make it. But here’s the silver lining – the residents and officers only received minor scrapes and bruises.

Neighbor Tom Lapis told WLS-TV, “It scares us. But I’m sure it’s a one-time incident, and we hope and pray that that’s the situation, because we love the community.”

Paul Ekstrom, whose 100-year-old mother was having breakfast nearby when all hell broke loose, said, “Every time I recount this story, it just doesn’t seem real. If it wasn’t for the police, I mean, thank God for the police, they would’ve been sitting ducks.” Amen to that, Paul. Those officers were the real MVPs of the day.

The disturbed man turned out to be 41-year-old Daniel Escalera from Indiana. This fella had a rap sheet longer than a CVS receipt, with everything from DUIs to stabbing his wife and beating up a motorcyclist. And get this – he was supposed to be in jail for a probation violation. Seems like someone dropped the ball harder than a Super Bowl fumble.

So there you have it, folks. A reminder that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, and that our men and women in blue are out there every day, ready to face down the craziest situations imaginable. Let’s just hope the next time someone shows up at a nursing home with power tools, it’s the maintenance guy.

(DC Pundit) – The battle for the souls of Ohio’s elementary school kids is heating up faster than a preacher’s sermon. The Satanic Temple has decided to crash the party at Edgewood Elementary in Marysville, Ohio, with their own brand of after-school fun.

They’re calling it the Hellions Academy of Independent Learning, or HAIL for short. Talk about a marketing team that’s earning their pitchforks! This little shindig is set to kick off this month, and it’s got more than a few folks clutching their pearls.

June Everett, the Satanic Temple’s spokesperson, says they’re not actually worshipping Old Scratch. In fact, they’re about as spiritual as a rock. “We are not devil worshipers,” Everett said. “We are non-theistic, meaning we don’t believe in any supernatural deities, and that includes, you know, God or Satan.”

So why are they stirring the pot? Well, it seems they’ve got a bee in their bonnet over LifeWise Academy, a Christian program that’s been letting kids skip class for some good old-fashioned Bible study. Everett didn’t beat around the bush: “We really are no fan of it. We do believe strongly in religious pluralism and religious freedom. But we would absolutely go away if they stopped doing their program.”

So far, HAIL has managed to rope in four brave souls, while LifeWise currently has 251 students across the district. But Everett’s not sweating the numbers. “As long as there’s one child wanting to attend and one family wanting to send their child, that’s all that we care about,” she remarked.

Meanwhile, over at LifeWise, CEO Joel Penton is playing it cooler than the other side of the pillow. He’s all for letting parents choose, saying, “We believe all families should have the opportunity to choose religious study during school hours, and we trust parents to make the best choice for their children.”

As for the Marysville School District? They’re keeping mum on the whole situation. Probably figuring out how to thread this needle without pricking their fingers.

(DC Pundit) – James O’Keefe, the head honcho over at OMG, is about to blow the lid off a can of worms that’s been festering in the intelligence community.

O’Keefe took to Twitter, declaring, “OMG is going to expose the national security officials spilling the tea.” Now, if that doesn’t get your ears perked up, I don’t know what will.

It turns out that nearly 100 former national security bigwigs have their knickers in a twist over Trump’s pick for Director of National Intelligence – none other than Tulsi Gabbard. They’ve penned a letter urging the Senate to put Gabbard under the microscope before handing her the keys to the intelligence kingdom.

These ex-officials are claiming, “Several of Ms. Gabbard’s past actions call into question her ability to deliver unbiased intelligence briefings to the President, Congress, and to the entire national security apparatus.” They’re particularly hot under the collar about Gabbard’s Syrian sojourn, muttering that she “aligned herself with Russian and Syrian officials.”

The former spooks are pushing for Gabbard’s confirmation hearing to be held behind closed doors. They’re saying, “Senate committees should consider in closed sessions all information available to the U.S. government when considering Ms. Gabbard’s qualifications to manage our country’s intelligence agencies, and more importantly, the protection of our intelligence sources and methods.”

Does this all sounds familiar to you? It should. This letter bears an uncanny resemblance to the one that surfaced during the 2020 election cycle over Hunter Biden’s emails. Back then, over 50 ex-intelligence folks claimed the New York Post story about those emails had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Among the signatories of this latest letter, we have: Wendy Sherman, who used to be Biden’s deputy secretary of state; Ian Kelly, who played ambassador to Georgia for both Obama and Trump; and Eric Green, a former member of Biden’s National Security Council.

Here’s the million-dollar question: Are these folks really looking out for national security, or are they just trying to throw a monkey wrench into Trump’s plans? O’Keefe seems to think there’s more to this story than meets the eye, and he’s ready to spill the beans.

So, buckle up, buttercup. This ride’s about to get bumpy. O’Keefe is promising to take us through the murky world of intelligence officials and their behind-the-scenes shenanigans.

(DC Pundit) – What started as a typical Friday at the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo, California, quickly turned into a nightmare.

A man named Glenn Litton arrived at the school, smooth-talking his way through a tour with administrators. He played the part of a doting grandpa, scoping out the place for his supposed grandkid. However, it was all a big fat lie.

Just when everyone thought he was leaving after the tour concluded, Litton pulled a fast one. Instead of hitting the road, he decided to turn the playground into his personal shooting gallery. And who was in the crosshairs? Two innocent little California boys who were probably more worried about their next recess than dodging bullets.

One of these poor kids got hit not once, not twice, but three times. The other caught a single bullet. Both of them are now fighting for their lives in the hospital.

After his twisted rampage, Litton decided to take the coward’s way out. He turned the gun on himself and bit the dust right there on school grounds.

Police believe this whole thing was some kind of twisted revenge plot for what Litton called the “Gaza genocide.”

As of now, the boys are in critical but stable condition. Let’s hope these little fighters pull through.
