Old habits die hard. The media quickly followed suit, seemingly eager to pin every grocery receipt on Trump. But on Wednesday, CNN was forced to admit something it clearly didn’t enjoy saying out loud: inflation is coming down under Trump.
Yes, even CNN couldn’t spin its way out of the latest economic numbers.
The acknowledgment came after the release of the November inflation report, which showed inflation dropping from 3% to 2.7%. That shift may sound modest to casual observers, but in economic terms, it matters — especially after years of inflation headaches that hammered working families. Lower inflation means easing pressure on household budgets, something voters notice long before cable news panels do.

For a network that spent years warning that Trump’s policies would wreck the economy, the moment was visibly uncomfortable. CNN commentators openly conceded there was “no other way to spin it,” effectively admitting that the data points in the wrong — or rather, right — direction. Poor CNN. Reporting economic improvement under Trump appears to be about as enjoyable as a root canal without anesthesia.
To be clear, this didn’t happen in a vacuum. Inflation doesn’t reverse overnight, and no president flips a magic switch. But the trend line is moving in the right direction, and it’s happening under Trump’s watch. That reality clashes directly with the permanent state of panic Democrats prefer to maintain.
And that’s precisely why this news frustrates the political Left. Democrats don’t want Trump — or the country — to succeed. They thrive on crisis messaging, believing doom and gloom is their fastest route back to power. A stabilizing economy disrupts that narrative in a big way.

While CNN may not celebrate it, American families will. Falling inflation means more breathing room, fewer painful trade-offs at the checkout line, and a sense that the economy is finally regaining balance. The numbers don’t care about political preferences, and for once, even CNN had to admit it.
Sometimes, facts are stubborn things — and this one was impossible to ignore.
