(DC Pundit) – Three young American men were taken into federal custody Friday on charges that they conspired to provide material support to one of the most brutal terrorist organizations in modern history, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, better known as ISIS.
Bisaam Ghafoor, 21, of Leawood, Kansas; Elias Shamsaldeen, 21, of Porterville, California; and Bereen Dzayee, 25, of Lakeside, California, were arrested and charged after allegedly funneling over $2,000 to an individual they believed to be an active ISIS member, according to the Justice Department. The arrests were carried out across multiple states, with apprehensions made in Kansas City, San Diego, and Sacramento.
According to the criminal complaint filed in the District of Kansas, the three men communicated from May 2025 through June 2026 about various schemes to support ISIS, including the provision of personnel, services, and money. They also reportedly pledged allegiance to the terrorist organization. And if that weren’t alarming enough, Dzayee allegedly suggested that potential drone strike targets include U.S. Special Forces.
The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, spanning the Kansas City, San Diego, and Sacramento field offices, investigated the cases and coordinated the arrests.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche did not hold back in responding to the news. “This administration has put terrorists, cartels, and gangs on notice,” Blanche said in a statement. “Today’s arrest of three individuals who allegedly conspired to provide material support to ISIS makes clear our commitment to taking down terrorist networks — anywhere.”
Under the Trump administration, the message to those who wish to harm this country is unmistakably clear: you will be found, and you will be held accountable.
It is also worth pausing to recognize just how serious this situation is. These are not foreign nationals who slipped through the border. These are men living in American cities, in American communities, who allegedly chose to financially support an organization responsible for mass executions, genocide, and the murder of American service members and civilians around the world. The threat of homegrown terrorism is real, it is active, and it demands vigilance.
Credit where it is due, federal law enforcement did its job here, and the Trump Justice Department is making good on its promise to pursue terrorist networks without hesitation. Cases like this one are a sobering reminder of why strong, serious leadership on national security matters so much.
