(DC Pundit) – If you needed yet another reason to question the integrity of elections in deep-blue California, here it is, and it’s a doozy.
A series of disturbing videos have surfaced showing homeless residents on Los Angeles’ infamous Skid Row claiming they were paid cash in exchange for their votes, with those votes going exclusively to incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass and far-left councilwoman Nithya Raman. The California Post obtained copies of the videos after they were published on TikTok. The footage was recorded near 7th Street and Flower Street in downtown Los Angeles and has since been provided to the Department of Justice.
This story didn’t come out of nowhere. A few weeks prior, investigative journalist James O’Keefe released a video exposing a vote-buying scheme on Skid Row that involved paying homeless individuals for their ballots. The woman identified as central to that scheme has since been federally charged. Now there’s more, and the videos are hard to dismiss.
In one clip, a man identifying himself as Kevin Shepherd stated he received $4 to vote for Bass. Another Skid Row resident, Rene Johnson, 39, claimed she was paid $5 and told to cast her vote for Bass as well. Johnson said she personally supported Bass but admitted she was still unclear about some of the forms she had completed — which raises its own set of concerning questions about what exactly she signed.

It gets worse. The California Post had already reported that thousands of homeless voters were registered to shelters where they didn’t actually live. One shelter in Venice, where 185 Raman voters were registered, received $600,000 in taxpayer funds courtesy of the same Nithya Raman those voters supported. Nothing to see here, apparently.
Related allegations have been spreading across social media for days, and the footage now sits with federal authorities. Whether the DOJ under President Trump’s administration will pursue this aggressively remains to be seen, but the evidence being compiled is substantial.

Let’s be direct about what this is. Paying vulnerable, homeless Americans a few dollars for their votes is among the most cynical, exploitative forms of election manipulation imaginable. These are people with few resources and limited options, and if these accounts are accurate, they were treated as cheap political pawns by operatives working to keep the left in power in Los Angeles.
This is not what the founders of this nation had in mind when they built a republic on the principle of free and fair elections. Every fraudulent vote cancels out a legitimate one cast by a law-abiding citizen. Every scheme like this one corrodes public trust in a system that desperately needs it restored.
If these claims hold up under investigation, and the early evidence suggests they warrant serious scrutiny, those responsible need to face real consequences, not a slap on the wrist.
