URGENT: CLICK TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE LEFT!
(DC Pundit) – Jasmine Crockett’s congressional career is winding down, she lost her Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Texas, and based on her performance at Tuesday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing, she apparently decided to go out with a bang rather than any semblance of dignity.
The hearing was examining some genuinely serious allegations. A federal indictment charges the Southern Poverty Law Center with wire fraud, false statements to a federally insured bank, and conspiracy to commit money laundering, specifically for allegedly funneling millions in tax-exempt funds to neo-Nazi groups while manufacturing the very hatred it claims to fight. The SPLC also reportedly used its influence over the Biden-era Justice Department and FBI to target conservative organizations including Moms for Liberty, Turning Point USA, Alliance Defending Freedom, and pro-life Catholic groups. Important stuff. The kind of thing a legislator might want to take seriously.
Crockett had other plans. Rather than engage with the substance of the hearing, she used her allotted time to deliver a screaming rant about White men. Specifically, she argued that Republicans on the Committee lack credibility because of their race and gender.
“White men are lecturing people of color because the vast majority, actually, any semblance of diversity comes from this side of the aisle,” she screeched. “You want to tell people of color who is fighting for who? People of color do not feel comfortable or welcomed within your party.”
Imagine saying that out loud into a microphone in an official congressional hearing and thinking it reflected well on you. Bold choice.
She then turned her sights on Republican witness Dr. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., suggesting Republicans only invited her to confuse people about her views. “I have been reading the comments online, and people are like, ‘Who is this Dr. King?'” Crockett said, claiming Dr. King doesn’t “understand the teachings of Dr. King.” Attacking a King family member at a congressional hearing takes a special kind of audacity.
Crockett also referenced statements made by the late Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA, one of the organizations the SPLC had labeled a hate group. Kirk was tragically killed by a violent left-wing extremist, which is worth noting given the SPLC’s stated mission of combating extremist violence.
After her extended tirade targeting Republicans, Dr. King, and Texas GOP Senate nominee Ken Paxton, Crockett bolted from the room before Dr. King was given a chance to respond. Convenient timing.
Dr. King, composed and gracious despite having just been publicly attacked, responded: “Congresswoman, I am a bit emotional. I’m going to watch what I say, but it seems as though you have suggested that I am a bastard to the King family legacy. I am legitimately the daughter of Reverend Alfred Daniel Williams King and Dr. Naomi Ruth Barber King. We are a family who loves God, and I love you.”
Class versus chaos. The contrast couldn’t have been clearer.
