(DC Pundit) – Two Cache County, Utah residents — Rose Inessa-Ethington, 42, also known as Eri Ethington, and Blue Inessa-Ethington, 32, also known as Carly Ann Crosby — were deported from Cuba and now face federal charges of International Parental Kidnapping and Aiding and Abetting, according to a Department of Justice news release.
The 10-year-old boy was supposed to be traveling to Canada on March 28 for a camping trip with his father — Rose Inessa-Ethington, the child’s mother’s former husband, who now identifies as female. When April 3 arrived and the child didn’t return home, his mother contacted authorities. It was eventually discovered that the group had flown first to Mexico and then to Cuba, taking both the 10-year-old and a 3-year-old child along.
The family’s fears were serious and well-documented. The complaint stated that “concerns exist that MV 1 was transported to Cuba for gender reassignment surgery prior to puberty,” and further noted that the child’s female identification “is largely believed to be due to manipulation by Rose Inessa-Ethington” — despite the fact that the boy was born male.
Searches of the suspects’ residence turned up notes “from a mental health therapist located in Washington D.C. including instruction to send the therapist the $10,000.00 and instructions on gender affirming medical care for children.”

On April 13, a Utah state court granted the mother sole custody and ordered the child returned. Three days later, authorities located the group in Cuba. The Trump administration sent a plane to retrieve the child — because that’s what actually putting children first looks like.
The boy has since been reunited with his mother.
“We are grateful to law enforcement for working swiftly to return the child to the biological mother,” said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa Holyoak for the District of Utah.
Both suspects were ordered detained following their initial hearing in Richmond, Virginia.
