(DC Pundit) – A radical California college professor and one of the original founders of Black Lives Matter has been caught on video doing something that should land her in serious legal jeopardy.
On Sunday, a far-left organization called La Defensa del Pueblo held a summit in Oxnard, California, bringing together so-called immigrant rights activists, “faith leaders,” labor unions, and a collection of other leftist groups to protest what they dramatically dubbed “terror against the people.” The event drew its heaviest fire toward President Trump’s September 2025 executive order titled “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence” — a measure designed to give the administration the tools needed to dismantle exactly the kind of domestic terror networks these groups represent. The gathering also took aim at Trump’s immigration agenda and what they laughably called his “war on Black America.” Sure.
But the event went viral for something far more alarming than the usual leftist grievance theater.
Manhattan Institute’s Stu Smith shared a shocking video on Monday showing Cal State Los Angeles professor Melina Abdullah doing two things that should raise every law enforcement alarm in the country, she named a specific ICE officer by name before an assembled crowd and then announced where he was likely staying. She then proceeded to repeatedly tell the audience to “f**k him up.”

The Heritage Foundation’s Mike Gonzalez pointed out that Abdullah isn’t just some fringe agitator with a campus office. She was one of the original founders of Black Lives Matter and served as head of BLM grassroots. She is also reportedly a personal friend of embattled Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who has had her own share of headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Let’s be clear about what happened here. A university professor, employed by a California state institution and funded in part by taxpayer dollars, stood before a crowd and publicly targeted a federal agent, disclosed his whereabouts, and incited the audience to physically harm him. If a conservative had done anything remotely close to this involving a leftist activist, the media would have wall-to-wall coverage demanding immediate prosecution.
The ICE agents who carry out this administration’s immigration enforcement do so at considerable personal risk every single day and they deserve the full protection of the law.
Authorities need to take a very hard look at this video. What Abdullah did on that stage wasn’t free speech. It was a threat to a federal officer’s life, and it deserves to be treated accordingly.
