(DC Pundit) – Another migrant caravan is trudging north through Mexico toward the U.S. border, and the timing couldn’t be more convenient for the folks hoping Americans have short memories. With the midterms just weeks away, the group is headed for a border that looks nothing like the one the left spent four years pretending was “secure.”
Reuters has confirmed that more than 400 migrants from Honduras entered Mexico on Thursday en route to the United States. The caravan, made up mostly of Central Americans, has since grown. Estimates now put it at more than 600 people. It follows another caravan spotted marching toward the border last month, also ahead of the midterms. Funny how these things tend to line up with election season.
Journalist Julio Rosas reports that the migrants told him they’re hoping Democrats win in November. Can’t imagine why. When one party’s immigration platform amounts to “come on in,” it’s not hard to see who they are rooting for.

Independent reporter Anthony Aguero says “Proyecto Faro and ADRA” are the main NGOs assisting the caravan, and reports say at least two NGOs are funding it. These marches don’t organize themselves out of thin air, and taxpayers deserve to know who’s footing the bill.
Obviously, the Trump administration will not be rolling out the welcome mat. Border czar Tom Homan said recently that the migrants will be sent back to their home countries or a third country. “They’ll be immediately turned around, or they’ll be arrested and prosecuted and deported,” Homan said.
He also made clear the White House intends to hold the line. “Zero releases from the border under the Trump administration. President Trump promised that. He’s going to keep that promise,” he said.
Then Homan landed the punch that should keep Democratic strategists up at night. “I hope voters are paying attention,” he said. “Remember the images of 12,000 illegals per day coming across the border. Now they want to abolish the agency that finds them and deports them!”
Under Joe Biden, the border became a revolving door with a welcome sign. Now the same party that presided over that mess is asking for control of Congress, and some of its loudest voices want to abolish ICE. Americans can decide whether that sounds like a solution or a sequel.
