URGENT: CLICK TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE LEFT!
(DC Pundit) – Seattle’s brand-new socialist Mayor Katie Wilson thought it was all one big joke. A few weeks ago, when the topic of millionaires packing their bags and fleeing the city over her shiny new tax hikes came up, she laughed it off like someone had told her a knock-knock joke at a dinner party. Hilarious, right? Well, the punchline is arriving faster than she expected, and nobody’s laughing now.
Wilson, who took office earlier this year, wasted no time making clear where her loyalties lie: with the ideology of tax-and-spend governance that has hollowed out cities across America. Her approach? Soak the wealthy, redistribute the proceeds, and watch the utopia bloom. What could possibly go wrong?
Apparently, everything.
Less than five months into her term, the reality of basic economics is already knocking on Seattle’s door. Democratic City Councilmember Rob Saka, who by all accounts welcomed Wilson’s radical vision with open arms, is now singing a very different tune. Saka admitted to the New York Times, “I am gravely concerned,” adding, “This is real.”
Well, Rob, welcome to the party. Conservatives have been saying this for years.
The uncomfortable question now hanging over Seattle like a rain cloud is this: who exactly is going to fund the socialist utopia when all the wealthy residents and businesses have relocated somewhere that doesn’t treat success like a punishable offense?
Even Wilson herself appears to be scrambling for the brakes, attempting damage control as the consequences of her own rhetoric begin to materialize. Here’s the problem with that strategy — you can’t unring that bell. The wealthy aren’t waiting around to find out how bad it gets. They have options, accountants, and moving trucks.
SECOND THOUGHTS?
After going viral for saying "like, bye" to wealth leaving Seattle & demonizing big business, including boycotting Starbucks, Seattle Socialist Mayor Katie Wilson is now PRAISING Amazon, Starbucks, Microsoft & big donors for partnerships after many announced… pic.twitter.com/SD4wzVbbF4

Seattle is walking straight into the same trap that snared New York City, San Francisco, and every other progressive-run municipality that decided the golden goose was inexhaustible. Spoiler alert: it isn’t. When you tax and vilify your highest earners, they leave. When they leave, so does the tax revenue. And when the revenue disappears, the services that the socialist agenda promised become impossible to deliver.
The people of Seattle are about to receive a very expensive education in Economics 101, a course, it seems, their mayor skipped entirely.
