(DC Pundit) – Border Czar Tom Homan has a message for the latest migrant caravan heading north through Mexico, and it doesn’t include a welcome mat.
More than 400 aliens from Honduras crossed into Mexico on Thursday, bound for the United States. The timing is convenient for anyone keeping a political scorecard, since the caravan is marching toward the border just ahead of the midterm elections. Funny how these things tend to line up.
Independent reporter Anthony Aguero says at least two NGOs are helping bankroll the trek, naming “Proyecto Faro and ADRA” as the main groups assisting the caravan. Proyecto Faro is an immigrant support nonprofit based in Rockland County, New York, funded by a mix of foundations, nonprofits, and government grants. ADRA, short of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, is the humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Its largest funder is reportedly the U.S. government, so American taxpayers may be footing part of the bill for a group involved in a march toward their own border.

Homan, who ran ICE as acting director during President Trump’s first term, says the migrants shouldn’t bother unpacking. They’ll be sent back to their home countries or to a third country willing to take them.
“They’ll be immediately turned around, or they’ll be arrested and prosecuted and deported,” Homan said.
That’s a far cry from the catch-and-release era, when showing up at the border was treated as a down payment on a life in America. Homan says those days are over.
“Zero releases from the border under the Trump administration. President Trump promised that. He’s going to keep that promise,” he said.

Homan also took aim at Democrats, who have flirted with the idea of abolishing the very agency tasked with enforcing immigration law. It’s a bold strategy, to be sure. Fire the people whose job is to find and deport people who broke the law, and see how that works out.
“I hope voters are paying attention,” Homan said. “Remember the images of 12,000 illegals per day coming across the border. Now they want to abolish the agency that finds them and deports them!”
Voters will have their say soon enough.
