URGENT: CLICK TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE LEFT!
(DC Pundit) – NBC has called it: Abdul El-Sayed has won the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, defeating establishment-backed Representative Haley Stevens in a race that sent a clear message about where the Democratic Party’s base is headed, and it isn’t toward the center.
El-Sayed will now face former Republican Representative Mike Rogers, who ran unopposed in the GOP primary, in the November general election. Rogers is a seasoned former congressman and FBI agent with deep roots in Michigan politics and a strong national security background. El-Sayed is a self-described non-socialist who has somehow managed to speak at six DSA events, been photographed with Socialist Representative Rashida Tlaib at a 2019 Detroit DSA event where he was described as “a longtime friend of Detroit DSA,” and secured the endorsement of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
But sure, not a socialist.

“I’m not technically or practically DSA,” El-Sayed claimed in an interview last month. “I am not somebody who is a socialist. I believe in capitalism; I just believe that capitalism has to be regulated.” His platform of Medicare for All, wealth taxes, and Supreme Court term limits suggests a very particular definition of “regulated capitalism” that most Americans would not recognize as such.
The establishment pulled out all the stops for Stevens. Outgoing Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer threw their full weight behind her candidacy. Outside groups dumped more than $60 million into Stevens’ campaign. All of it was not enough to stop El-Sayed’s insurgent progressive coalition from carrying the night.
The company El-Sayed keeps is worth examining closely. Just one day before the election, he was spotted at a pool party with Hasan Piker — a communist influencer with a well-documented history of anti-American and antisemitic commentary — alongside Socialist House candidates Melat Kiros of Colorado and Chris Rabb of Pennsylvania. Piker was also in attendance at El-Sayed’s election night watch party, according to Fox News.

Most troubling of all is what El-Sayed said while appearing alongside Piker following the March terrorist attack on Temple Israel in Michigan. Rather than condemning the attack unequivocally, El-Sayed offered this: “I think it’s just critical for us to understand that hurt people do hurt people, and the circumstances happening 6,000 miles away can affect the lives that we live here.”
A terrorist attack on a Jewish house of worship in Michigan, and that was El-Sayed’s response?
Michigan voters chose this man to represent the Democratic Party in November. Mike Rogers now has an opportunity, and arguably an obligation, to make sure the people of Michigan understand exactly who and what they would be sending to the United States Senate if El-Sayed wins in the fall.
