(DC Pundit) – A self-described liberal mental patient attacked a conservative reporter and openly threatened to kill her during a free speech event at the University of Michigan on Sunday. Independent reporter Cam Higby identified the woman as a supporter of progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.
Liz Benichou, a Jewish activist filming man-on-the-street interviews on campus, was the target. In the middle of what appeared to be a debate, the woman shoved Benichou to the ground and jumped on top of her. Several people tried to pull the attacker off before campus police arrived.
Officers took her down and cuffed her as she resisted and unleashed a stream of profanity, openly admitting the assault. “What the f*ck are you going to do to me because I hit a f*cking dumb ass b*tch in the face?” she demanded.
As police loaded her into the cruiser she kept going. “You stupid f*cking c*nt!” she screamed, then turned on Benichou: “I should have f*cking killed you when I had the f*cking chance!” She added, “I’m not kidding you. F*ck you.”
A bystander yelled, “go to a mental hospital b*tch.” The woman shot back, “I’ve already been to a mental hospital, and I’ll go again!”
Benichou later said she was unharmed and offered a clear assessment: “I’m okay. This is what happens when you dealing with leftist radicals.”

Campus free speech events keep drawing the same predictable response from the activist left. Someone shows up to ask questions or film interviews, and the self-appointed enforcers of progressive orthodoxy decide physical violence is the appropriate reply. The attacker’s own words make the motive clear. She hit a woman she disagreed with, threatened to kill her, and then proudly cited her mental health history as if it were a badge of honor.
University administrators and progressive politicians have spent years coddling this culture. The result is exactly what happened at Michigan: a Jewish activist on the ground, a radical screaming death threats, and another reminder that free speech on campus only runs one direction.
