(DC Pundit) – Twenty-three cruise ship crew members were taken into custody at the Port of San Diego on April 28th, arrested by the very immigration agents that Democrats have spent years trying to defund, dismantle, and demonize. The operation, dubbed “Operation Tidal Wave,” targeted individuals suspected of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material. This all happened aboard a Disney cruise ship. Let that sink in for a moment.
ICE spokeswoman Sandra Grisolia confirmed the details in a statement: “HSI San Diego arrested twenty-three crewmembers from multiple cruise ships at the Port of San Diego as part of Operation Tidal Wave. The arrests targeted individuals suspected of involvement with Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), based on information received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.”
“The arrestees were transported to Los Angeles for processing, and their visas were revoked,” Grisolia added.

Customs and Border Protection confirmed that “officers confirmed all subjects were involved in either the receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing of CSEM or child pornography.” CSEM stands for child sexual exploitation material.
Passenger Dharmi Mehta called witnessing the arrests “really unsettling,” and expressed concern about the head waiter, asking, “How is he gonna reach out to his family? Does the family even know that he’s not getting back on the ship today?” Mehta later attended a press conference with immigrant rights groups — presumably before learning exactly who she was defending.
Benjamin Prado from Union del Barrio doubled down, declaring, “This is not an isolated incident,” and calling on “working people to really denounce these actions by Customs and Border Protection, by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.” Defending accused child predators is a bold hill to plant your flag on, Benjamin.
Disney absolutely needs far more rigorous vetting of its crew members. Parents who trusted the “Happiest Place on Earth” brand with their children’s safety deserve far better than this.
When Democrats compare immigration agents to Nazi secret police and tie their hands with red tape and political pressure, real predators walk free. Operation Tidal Wave proved that these agents aren’t the villains the left makes them out to be. They’re the ones protecting our kids.
