(DC Pundit) – Former Vice President Kamala Harris is already mapping out the next round of Democratic payback. In an interview with Aaron Parnas ahead of the November 3 midterms, she urged her party to focus on investigations and “accountability” instead of another doomed attempt to impeach President Donald Trump if Democrats seize the House and Senate.
“The energy and the resources need to be put into accountability, need to be put into investigations,” Harris said, conceding that the Senate votes required to convict Trump simply were not available. She then called for toughness over any lingering sense of restraint. “When I say we should be ruthless, I don’t mean cruel, but we should be uncompromising.” Democrats, she argued, should stop being “genteel” about political relationships and start delivering results, from reversing Medicaid cuts to restoring checks on the administration’s handling of the war. No time to wait, apparently.

The message is clear: if they cannot remove the president the voters just reelected, they will settle for endless probes and institutional harassment.
Hillary Clinton struck a similar note on the October 28 episode of High Stakes with Kara Swisher. She predicted a Democratic Congress would investigate “him, his administration, his family, his supporters and allies.” Clinton endorsed a mix of legislation, lawsuits, and public pressure to restrain Trump.

She went further, forecasting that Republican losses would prompt Trump to blame others, demand greater party loyalty, and become “more dangerous,” including the possibility of additional attacks on Iran that she claimed could endanger American military personnel and civilians. Describing the president as a lame duck who has held Republicans hostage for a decade, Clinton insisted Democrats would ultimately have to prove they can govern on affordability and corruption.
“So buckle up,” she said, adding that the election was only the beginning and that Democrats first needed to win before they could restrain Trump and hold him accountable. In an earlier conversation with Swisher, Clinton dismissed impeaching Trump as a “sideshow” unlikely to produce a conviction while still supporting impeachment-style investigations into officials such as Pete Hegseth, whom she accused of politicizing the military.
The pattern is familiar. Having lost the White House, the same figures who spent years trying to criminalize Trump politics are now promising a new wave of investigations the moment they regain any leverage. Voters who returned Trump to the presidency already rejected that approach once. The question is whether enough of them will reject it again.
