(DC Pundit) – There are Republicans who fight for the people who elected them, and then there are Republicans who get to Washington and forget why they were sent there in the first place. Senate Majority Leader John Thune is looking more and more like the latter, and some of his own colleagues are sounding the alarm.
Florida Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, one of the few members of Congress who consistently speaks plainly and fights hard, dropped a bombshell warning on X, revealing that Thune will block a permanent ban on Central Bank Digital Currencies from any legislation the House sends over.
Attention America:
John Thune has said he will not support a CBDC ban in any of the legislation we send over.
He also has said No Save America.

Let’s be clear about what a Central Bank Digital Currency actually means for everyday Americans. A CBDC would hand the Federal Reserve and the broader administrative state the power to monitor every single financial transaction you make. Buy a firearm? They know. Donate to a conservative cause? They know. Attend a Trump rally? They know. And if they don’t like what you’re doing, they can freeze your accounts. This is the exact same technology the Chinese Communist Party uses to control and surveil its own population, and Thune is apparently perfectly comfortable allowing it to find a foothold in the United States.
That’s alarming enough on its own. But Thune’s betrayal doesn’t stop there. He has also killed the SAVE America Act, the critical legislation that would require proof of U.S. citizenship and photo ID to vote in federal elections. The kind of common-sense election integrity measure that the overwhelming majority of Americans support.
Rather than fight for it, Thune dismissed the enormous grassroots pressure campaign demanding its passage as nothing but “propaganda by paid influencers.” He then took a two-week recess and quietly dropped the bill entirely, prompting Luna to expose him publicly on X, revealing that Thune is “no longer considering the SAVE America Act.”
Just so America knows, after two weeks in recess, John Thune is no longer considering the SAVE America Act.

Republicans sent John Thune to lead the Senate majority. And now, he’s using his position to block conservative priorities while handing the left exactly what they want. Conservatives across the country deserve better than this.
