(DC Pundit) – Three children are dead. Cora was 5. Dawson was 3. Callan was 8 months old. That is the only fact that should matter in any serious conversation about the Lindsay Clancy case. Apparently, Oprah Winfrey’s new podcast has other priorities.
A clip from the just-released episode of The Oprah Podcast, titled “The Lindsay Clancy Case, Understanding Postpartum Psychosis,” went viral this week after being shared on X. In it, a room full of women erupts in applause after a doctor argues that mothers of color who killed their own children deserve the same wave of public sympathy currently surrounding Clancy.
Dr. Kameelah Phillips, a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, made her case: “I want us to have the same passion for people who don’t look like Lindsay, who don’t have the same access… her education, her melanin, her privilege.” She continued, “There are women of color sitting around this country in prisons for the same thing we never heard of. I just wanna remind us to have the same pink shirts and the energy for them as well.”
The audience cheered.

Oprah taped the episode in Massachusetts with an audience, medical experts, legal voices, and women claiming to have experienced postpartum psychosis firsthand. The episode arrives as Clancy’s trial ended in a mistrial last week following a hung jury, with prosecutors announcing they intend to retry her.
For context: Lindsay Clancy has admitted to strangling her three children with exercise bands in the basement of the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home on January 24, 2023, before slashing herself and jumping from a second-story window. She is now paralyzed from the waist down. Hundreds of women in matching pink shirts turned the Plymouth courthouse into something resembling a revival meeting, forming hearts with their hands, reciting the Lord’s Prayer, and treating defense attorney Kevin Reddington like a celebrity.
Joe Rogan cut through the noise with characteristic bluntness, observing that those women would likely feel very differently if they had to look into the vacant eyes of children whose last sight on earth was their mother choking them. Hard to argue with that.
Fr. Dan Reehil, pastor of St. Catherine of Siena in Columbia, Tennessee, offered men some pointed advice about the pink shirt crowd: “If you’re dating a woman right now who is a supporter of this woman who killed her children, cut bait and run for your life. Because one day you’ll be having kids with her, and she thinks this is okay. I’m serious. That’s a big impediment for me in a marriage.”
What’s happening around the Clancy case is a disturbing cultural moment, one where sympathy for a confessed child killer has been turned into a social movement, and where a prominent media figure’s platform is being used to expand that movement along racial lines. Three innocent children deserve better than to have their deaths become a vehicle for identity politics.
