(DC Pundit) – Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin isn’t mincing words when it comes to Rep. Ilhan Omar. In a conversation with conservative media host Benny Johnson on the floor of the RNC National Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas, Mullin confirmed what many on the right have been saying for years: Omar married her brother, and deportation may be on the table.
“Something’s going to happen… We know that she married her brother to try to bring him into the United States – possibly some illegal activity…” Mullin told Johnson.

A sitting U.S. congresswoman, one who has built her entire political brand around being a champion of immigrants and refugees, allegedly gamed the very system she claims to champion.
The backstory here is worth revisiting. In 1995, Ilhan entered the United States as a fraudulent member of the “Omar” family, which was not her actual family. The Omar family, a second, completely unrelated family, was in the process of being granted asylum by the United States. According to reports, the Omars allowed Ilhan, her genetic sister Sahra, and her genetic father Nur Said to use false names to apply for asylum as members of their family.
Before applying for asylum, Ilhan’s actual name was Ilhan Nur Said Elmi. Her father’s name was Nur Said Elmi Mohamed, and her sister went by Sahra Nur Said Elmi. Three of her other siblings, using their real names, secured asylum in the United Kingdom as Leila, Mohamed, and Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
The fraud didn’t stop there. Omar also married her brother to help him obtain U.S. citizenship, a scheme that should disqualify both her and her brother from legal citizenship status entirely.
For years, Omar has deflected these allegations with the enthusiasm of someone who knows the mainstream media won’t push back. That may be changing. With Mullin now publicly confirming the matter, the walls may finally be closing in on one of Congress’s most controversial figures.
