(DC Pundit) – Following El-Sayed’s narrow victory over Representative Haley Stevens in the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, Ikhwan Online, an official media outlet of the Muslim Brotherhood, published a glowing write-up celebrating the win. The Muslim Brotherhood, which originated in Egypt, is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and numerous other countries. So that’s quite the fan club El-Sayed has assembled.
The outlet could barely contain its excitement. Here is the translated write-up in full: “The American doctor of Egyptian origin, Abdel Rahman ‘Abdoul’ Al-Sayed, on Wednesday, snatched the Democratic Party’s candidacy card to compete for the Michigan state seat in the US Senate midterm elections, in a result described as a new setback for pro-occupation lobby groups, after surpassing Rep. Hailey Stevens, supported by the American Zionist Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). American media confirmed that Al-Sayed won the Democratic Party nomination after a fierce competition with Stevens, which received wide support from pro-occupation lobby groups, while US MP of Palestinian origin, Rashida Tlaib, achieved a new victory in the primaries of Michigan’s 12th District, according to the Associated Press.”
The Brotherhood outlet also made sure to give a shoutout to “squad” member Rashida Tlaib for her own primary victory, because of course it did. Nothing says “mainstream Democratic candidate” quite like being celebrated by a designated terrorist organization.

The celebration from Ikhwan Online comes amid ongoing questions that multiple groups have raised about ties between El-Sayed’s campaign and Brotherhood-linked organizations. Those questions are now getting a lot harder to wave away.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz addressed the situation directly during a Senate hearing on Wednesday, pulling no punches. “Democrats’ campaign apparatus is now openly embracing terrorist organizations waging war on America,” Cruz said. He added: “Behind El-Sayed’s political rise sits a much older and more entrenched institutional network.”
That institutional network, and its enthusiasm for El-Sayed’s Senate candidacy, is something Michigan voters deserve to understand fully before November. El-Sayed will face former Republican Representative Mike Rogers in the general election, a former FBI agent and national security expert who spent years on the House Intelligence Committee. The contrast between the two candidates could not be more stark.
The Muslim Brotherhood is celebrating one of them. Michigan voters get to decide what they think about that.
