(DC Pundit) – While Josh Hokit was busy making headlines inside the octagon Sunday night, law enforcement was quietly dismantling a sinister plot just outside it.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced Tuesday morning that a plot to carry out a coordinated attack on attendees at the UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House lawn had been stopped by federal agents.
According to Fox News, the alleged plan was chillingly specific. Drones would trigger explosions on nearby buildings, criminal snipers would then open fire on panicked attendees attempting to flee, and a separate group of operatives would use the resulting chaos as cover to breach White House grounds. It reads like the script of a bad action movie, except it was very real, and very close to being carried out.
“On June 10, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat to the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. involving individuals outside of the National Capital Region – and thanks to the rapid action of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals are now in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold,” Patel posted on X.

Five individuals had already been arrested as of Monday, with a total of 23 people allegedly tied to the planning. Among the reported motives? Targeting AIPAC donors, a pro-Israel group, and what one suspect described as “capitalist elites.” So your garden-variety unhinged leftist fever dream, apparently.
Patel was quick to credit the men and women who made it happen. “While the result represented the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the ordinary for this law enforcement team – we are built to detect, respond to, and bring to justice those who threaten the lives of American citizens – particularly during large gatherings like the historic UFC 250 fight,” he stated, urging the public to continue submitting tips. “That’s exactly what we did here. I want to thank our great agents and partners, this work remains ongoing and we will continue to update the public as permitted,” he added.
U.S. Secret Service Director Sean Curran echoed those sentiments, noting that the agency’s “most important responsibility is safeguarding the President and every person under Secret Service protection.” Curran confirmed his agency worked closely with the FBI throughout the investigation, with agents and technical security teams working around the clock in the days leading up to the event.

California man Michael Alan Thomas has been identified as one of the alleged organizers of the plot. According to investigators, Thomas admitted to believing that the U.S. government is controlled by elites who sacrifice and eat children, had involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, and are shielded from accountability by President Trump himself.
This is no longer just a foiled terror plot. It’s a window into the kind of unhinged, conspiracy-soaked radicalism that law enforcement is increasingly being forced to confront. The fact that individuals this disconnected from reality were able to allegedly organize a coordinated attack on a nationally televised event on the White House lawn should alarm every American, regardless of political affiliation.
