(DC Pundit) – Rep. Lauren Boebert isn’t taking an explosive ethics complaint lying down, and given the nature of the allegations, that choice of words is entirely intentional.
A sworn ethics complaint filed September 17 by David B. Wheeler of American Muckrakers accuses the Colorado Republican of engaging in sexual relationships with three congressional staffers — two women and one man. The named individuals are Clarice Navarro, Boebert’s former district director; Raven Finegan, her current district chief of staff; and Jeffrey Small, her former chief of staff.
According to the complaint, Boebert’s alleged relationship with Navarro spanned from 2021 through January 2025. Wheeler further alleges that Navarro received approximately $30,650 in year-end bonuses from House funds, along with a $5,000 campaign payment listed as “fundraising consulting.” The complaint also claims Boebert arranged an approximately $200,000 payment to Navarro in 2025 after Navarro allegedly threatened to file her own ethics complaint, which American Muckrakers is characterizing as a hush payment, though that claim has not been independently established.
Wheeler’s complaint argues the alleged conduct violated House Rule XXIII, which prohibits members of Congress from engaging in sexual relationships with employees under their supervision. The complaint asks the House Ethics Committee to open a full investigation and refer potential campaign-finance and criminal violations to the Department of Justice and the Federal Election Commission.
Both Boebert and Navarro are pushing back hard.
“These allegations regarding me are entirely false, defamatory, and beyond ridiculous,” Navarro said when contacted by the Colorado Times Recorder. “There is absolutely no truth to any part of this claim.”
Boebert was equally direct. “Well, I’m not a lesbian or bisexual, and I have never, ever been in any inappropriate relationship, nor have I ever been sexually involved with any staff,” she told Sources Say News.
The complaint also drags in former Rep. Matt Gaetz and his wife, Ginger, with an unnamed source allegedly claiming Boebert and Navarro participated in a sexual encounter with Gaetz. No evidence establishing that accusation has been publicly produced, not even a shred. Boebert’s response to that particular add-on? “Creative, I’ll give him that!”
Gaetz, never one to shy away from a moment, took to X with characteristic flair. “I am requesting that anyone with video of me in this alleged ‘threesome’ release said evidence IMMEDIATELY!” he wrote. “Unedited, please.”

It’s worth noting that American Muckrakers is the same organization that previously targeted Gaetz with unverified allegations. Their track record of producing actual evidence to back up their bombshell claims is, shall we say, not impressive. Until the House Ethics Committee opens a formal investigation and credible evidence surfaces, this looks like another political hit job dressed up in legal language.
