(DC Pundit) – Something big is brewing in the Middle East, and President Trump isn’t exactly hiding it.
Trump cut his Camp David trip short Saturday night, boarding Marine One and heading straight back to the White House. Simultaneously, and this is where things get interesting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu abruptly scrapped his planned Texas visit and bolted back to Israel. When the leaders of two allied nations suddenly cancel their weekend plans at the same time, you can bet it’s not because someone forgot to stock the mini-fridge.
The dominoes kept falling from there. Iran issued a “Code 100” — its highest military alert level — for all armed forces. A US Air Force B-1B bomber, loaded with munitions, took off from RAF Fairford Air Base in Britain. And Saudi Arabia began launching strikes in Yemen. All of this unfolded within hours.
On Sunday morning, Trump sat down with Fox News Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst to address the elephant, or rather, the entire regime, in the room. The president made clear he’s weighing his options carefully, telling Yingst he is in a “deciding mode” and that “very big things” are going to be happening in the not-so-distant future regarding the Iran War.
Trump laid out three paths for Iran with the kind of blunt clarity that Washington’s career diplomats still can’t process without reaching for their smelling salts: wipe them out, let them rot economically, or make a deal. Simple, direct, and refreshingly honest, qualities the last administration treated like foreign concepts.
According to Yingst, Trump said the question going through his mind regarding Iran is “if and when do I blow the entire nation up?” That’s a commander-in-chief who means business.

To his credit, Trump left the door open for diplomacy. He said he would probably be open to meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian after the regime submitted a list of war-ending demands. That meeting could potentially take place at the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week, which Trump is scheduled to attend.
Trump also revealed he is in “constant communication” with the Iranian-backed Houthis, who have agreed not to fight the U.S. — a development the mainstream media has largely buried beneath their daily pile of manufactured outrage.
Say what you will about Trump’s style, but the world is clearly paying attention. Iran issuing its highest military alert in response to his decisions tells you everything you need to know about who commands respect on the world stage and who doesn’t.
