URGENT: CLICK TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE LEFT!
(DC Pundit) – Republicans were handed the keys to the kingdom, the White House, the House, and the Senate. A clean trifecta. The kind of political opportunity that rarely comes around. And somehow, Senate Majority Leader John Thune is managing to squander all of it.
Thune appeared on Fox News with Bret Baier this week and the South Dakota Republican once again demonstrated why so many conservatives are losing patience with the man currently steering, or more accurately stalling, the Republican-controlled Senate.
At issue is the SAVE America Act, President Trump’s sweeping election integrity legislation that includes voter ID requirements, proof of citizenship to register to vote, a ban on biological males competing in women’s sports, an end to mass mail-in voting, and protections for minors from transgender surgeries. These are not fringe positions. They are mainstream, common-sense policies that the overwhelming majority of Republican voters, and a significant chunk of independents, fully support.
Trump has been crystal clear: he wants the SAVE America Act firmly attached to the FISA reauthorization. Thune’s response? Attaching it would “tank” FISA. Apparently, protecting the federal government’s surveillance apparatus takes priority over securing American elections. Good to know where his loyalties lie.
🚨 JUST NOW: John Thune goes on TV making VERY clear he's TOO WEAK to get the SAVE America Act passed
Thune is HOPELESS. He needs to go. We've WASTED our Republican trifecta with Thune at the helm in the Senate.
Thune also REJECTED Trump's demand to attach the SAVE Act to FISA,… pic.twitter.com/D29gfBgwnF

Let’s be direct about what is happening here. Republicans control everything they need to pass this legislation, and the Senate Majority Leader is the single biggest obstacle standing in the way. This isn’t a Democratic obstruction story. This is a Republican leadership failure, full stop.
Conservatives worked hard to deliver this trifecta. They showed up, they voted, and they trusted their elected officials to follow through. What they got from Thune instead is a masterclass in weak-kneed establishment politics, the same brand of spineless governance that has frustrated the Republican base for decades.
President Trump has a mandate. The voters made that abundantly clear. Based on his track record, the answer is painfully obvious, Thune has zero intention of honoring it, and he’d rather keep the surveillance state humming along while election integrity measures gather dust on the shelf.
