(DC Pundit) – The party that spent years insisting “our democracy is under threat” whenever they lost an election is back with a brand new production, and this one comes with its own task force.
Senate Democrats have announced what they’re calling an “Election Security Task Force,” ostensibly to prevent President Trump from “rigging” elections. Yes, the same party that oversaw some of the most chaotic and questionable election cycles in modern American history is now positioning itself as the last line of defense for free and fair elections. The audacity is truly something to behold.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer rounded up five of his colleagues: Senators Raphael Warnock of Georgia, Mark Warner of Virginia, Alex Padilla of California, Dick Durbin of Illinois, and Adam Schiff of California, to star in what can only be described as a dramatic campaign video straight out of a low-budget political thriller.
“Donald Trump says he doesn’t care about the midterms,” Warnock says in the clip, before Schumer chimes in with the kicker, “because he plans on rigging them.” Warner then declares, “They know voters are going to hold him accountable this November,” with Warnock adding, “And they know their only way to win is to cheat.”
Padilla vows, “We’re standing up for our democracy, and we will defend our free and fair elections,” before Durbin announces, “This is why we’ve launched the most expansive protective effort for voting and elections that our caucus has ever undertaken.”

Schumer promises that “over the next five months, our Election Security Task Force will be meeting with top experts, planning for every possible threat and taking nothing for granted.” Warner, apparently feeling the moment called for some colorful language, adds that the task force “will be ready for any attempt for voter suppression, any other bullshit maneuver that Trump and his MAGA friends will use to try to rig our elections.” And Adam Schiff, a man whose credibility on matters of honesty is, shall we say, questionable, wraps things up with, “Elections belong to American voters, not to Donald Trump.”

If Republicans had pulled this exact stunt during the Biden years, the mainstream media would have melted down for a week straight. Instead, expect wall-to-wall coverage treating this as a heroic act of civic courage.
This announcement follows reports that Democrats met earlier this month to strategize around preventing Trump from securing the midterms, including discussions around federal agents at polling locations and election fraud investigations. Schumer has also falsely claimed that “Trump has talked about stealing the election.” Of course, no supporting evidence for that claim has been produced, but since when has that ever slowed Schumer down?
